he is an OKC guy (played at OBU) and former OU ast coach

also coached at Piedmont High, SNU women

good guy and a very good basketball coach

Also coached at OBU when I was a young report for the Shawnee News Star. Good person and was very kind to me as I tried to learn the ropes. Sad for a school like Mercer to fire someone for one bad season. Who really knows what went on behind the scenes, but I would agree with their AD on the "niceness" of Bob.

Mills has been there 2 years while Sutton had 14. It's a bit early to know how this will play out.

They've finished no better than 3rd in the conference in 5 years. When that happens with a guy in his 60s, you're better off going for new blood.

Agreed. They run good OOB plays now too - had a great one we stole for my son's high school team when Buddy was a senior and a great one this year where they throw it in to Manek and Doolittle pins his man on a quick post entry. Some of Lon's plays are two passes away from the initial inbound pass.
