W&M was good, for sure.... some things I thought were interesting from last night.

Negatives

OU shoots 16% from 3 - ugh. And only Reeves and Manek made one.
OU got out-rebounded, 39-30 which may happen a lot
Front court was 17-47 - 36% (Manek, Doo and Reeves)

Positives

80% from the line
Iwuakor - 8 points, 3 boards, a block and a steal in 10 minutes!
And only 9 fouls - while playing pretty good defense much of the night.
More steals than turnovers (9-4) is always a great stat

I'm not overly concerned about the outside shooting. I don't think we are a great three-point shooting team; Reaves is the only guy I consider a great shooter. But I think we will be solid in that department. Doo missed some shots he usually makes from the perimeter, and two or three of those were in and out early in the game. We missed too many shots at the rim, which is all too common, but I think some of those shots last night can be attributed to W&M's size. We won't face many teams with that size.

I think we have actually rebounded fairly well so far. Our guards rebound well, which helps offset (at least to some extent) the lack of size of our starting frontcourt. We won't be a team that consistently pounds opponents on the boards, but if we can hold our own in that department against good teams, it is worth the advantage we get on the offensive end when teams with a true big man struggle to guard Doo and/or Manek.

Rebounding is going to be a problem all year... just need to offset it in other ways.

I suspect as the season evolves there will be more effort put in to finding Reeves more feet set 3's like Brady gets.

That would be disappointing if can’t break even.

Have good length and athleticism, even if playing an undersized 5 (who’s averaging 11.3 per game).
