Its only two games, but what do you guys think of Cam so far? He obviously looks a little timid, and to be honest I havent noticed him a whole lot yet. He wasnt a major factor yesterday and he had a really quiet double/double against Coppin.

Is this about what you expected right out of the gate? When do you think he might bust open and have a huge game?

its weird. I didn't even notice him out there. They would show him on the screen and I would think to myself "hey i didn't know he was on the floor"

Little disappointed, thought his overall game would be a little more ready then it is. I can see him having a nice game early on but once conference play starts I am worried about him as some games are going to get real physical.

I'm disappointed about TJ having to redshirt (which long term isn't the worst thing) as I thought he could make an impact.

I was impressed against Coppin State with his rebounding. Last night, it seemed like he was a little timid on offense. He would be a big help it his would get his offense going, in order to give Fitz a little space.

Needs to slash. Looks like he's just content with knowing the offensive as oppose to creating.

Ya he played 32 minutes last night and I thought the same thing. I forgot he was even out there.

Maybe it will be one of those where he breaks out, scores 25, and then doesnt look so timid after that.

He took 5 shots, the least amount of any starter. Probably needs to be taking 10 shots. He would also benefit from transition although I don't know if this team is best suited for transition.

He played pretty well against Coppin, not so well last night. He looks like a slightly more talented Tony Crocker. I would expect his numbers thru his career to mirror Tony's , maybe a couple of ppg higher each year.

Those are pretty low expectations. No offense to Tony, but Cam was the #32 player in the class. Im not saying you are wrong, but most Sooner fans would be pretty disappointed if he doesnt turn out to be a star or close to it.

Cam will be fine. He's still adjusting to the speed and physicality of D-1 hoops, which is about what you would expect of a freshman playing in only his second real game of the season. When he gets a little confidence in his game and adjusts to his role on the team, we'll see the player everyone thought he'd be when OU signed him last fall. I'm not the least bit worried or disappointed in Cam so far.

As ABD said, no offense to Tony, but Cam is and should be much better than that. He needs more shots and if he isn't looking to create enough on his own, Capel needs to find ways in the half-court to get him in scoring positions. Can't really see him getting many points in transition with the way this team is composed.

I think not making it to campus this summer really set him back basketball wise. But hey he had to do what he had to do. Probably about 3 months behind the curve.

I just dont think hes a superstar. I think he someone who would avg 10, 12,14 and 16 a game maybe as his career progresses.

Unless you're an elight freshman, most don't bust out until at least their sophomore season and probably not until their junior year. Hopefully for our sake it is next year.

This is exactly what I expected from Cameron. He came late to the national-level recruiting party because he wasn't dominant in HS until really the summer before his junior year. It's his M.O. He always seems to take his time warming up to a situation - almost cautious in his approach. He will be an all-Big12 player at some point.

His personality is very passive and quiet until he gets comfortable in a situation. Once he's comfortable, the cream will rise to the top. All OU fans will be pleasantly surprised in the end.

He is an unusual high-level talent. He doesn't walk around with a sense of entitlement or even a "swag" - certainly not considering what others in the game, of his rank and stature, have had in the past.

He's refreshingly different, but make no mistake, he's the real deal. He will be a very good college basketball player before his 4 years are out!

DAZE pretty much articulates how I view Cam (though he certainly does so with far more knowledge of Cam and his overall game before he got here than me). In his pre-OU interviews, watching his play while he's been here, as well as press conference stuff he's done in the Oklahoma uniform, Cam seems particularly quiet and unassuming in his demeanor--borderline deferential in the way he carries himself and in his game as well. I don't see this in any way as reflective of talent level at all--it seems as if his personality in the early going is more of getting into the flow of the team rather than a desire to try to dominate and show off his high level skills from day one. I personally think that's a nice character trait to have for where he is now, and I expect him to gradually show his full arsenal of talent as the season progresses. I'm not worried about Cam at all.

I like the way that you make posts, sir.

I think he is handling the transition to DI differently than a lot of young players. Many players as talented as he is continue to try and force things and beat guys one on one in their freshman season and end up putting up decent numbers while not helping the team. I think he is transitioning by not forcing anything, not being liability, but also not producing as much as some expected. I think as the season goes on and he gets more comfortable he will start to play with more assertiveness.

at this point i'm just looking at potential.

he has not disappointed.
