Well, I just watched the Judiciary Hearing with Barr....and oh lord what a farce yesterday. The Dems on the committee didn't allow Barr to answer or address any of their questions and constantly cut him off. The Dems weren't interested in debate nor differing opinions.....just brow beating. Of course, Barr's IQ is much higher than anyone in the room and he would run circles around them if he would've been allowed to complete his answers. Yet, he didn't flinch, emote, or did he give in to their nonsense.

If you should learn anything from yesterday, it is not to allow Congress to have control over your life. It was a shining example of gutless, incompetent accusations and insults.....including murder. I'm not sure a greater repository of stupidity has ever been unearthed than what I saw yesterday.....our tax dollars at work.

And Nadler (who is a total dipsh!t) postulated the conspiracy theory that Barr sent Federal officers into cities to help assist Trump with content for his campaign ads.

We all know why they are going after Barr....because he tasked the DOJ with investigating the origins and those who were close to the Russian collusion circus. And anyone thinking that this charade will stop or even delay him...well, you don't know Bill Barr very well.

He is right on the mail in ballots though. They shouldn't be allowed. It is too easy to manipulate and create fraud. Tons of stories out there now where thousands of votes are missing. I don't agree with it.
But I despise more that people can't look at things objectively and how they try and twist words. When will the left realize that if they would just back off and let Trump bury himself, he will do it? But the more they come out with fake news and twist words, the more it turns off honest people.

Should the POTUS not be concerned with making sure an upcoming election is valid? If we are having sports, why can't the vast majority of Americans go to a poll and vote? Never, I am as cool as a cucumber. Politics, economics, history, current events, etc are an interest and a hobby for me. I read pretty much every evening before bed. I just started a new book last night as well that seems interesting.

I enjoy the discussions as well. However, I will note that I am considering taking a more active role. Not saying I am going to run for office, but I am considering finding ways to get more involved in things I care about, whether that be through writing, blogging, podcast, etc. We will see. Just an early idea for now.

Did someone propose full scale mail in voting? To my knowledge, and I could have missed it, nothing has changed about mail voting. People have been voting via mail for decades, and may likely do more of it this year to protect themselves. The state elections that have been conducted this year still had people show up to vote, etc.

From what I see, nothing has changed and nobody is proposing anything. The only variable is that Trump is trying to create a narrative that an accepted form of voting is no longer valid, and will result in him losing the election. That's the variable. Nothing else has changed from what we have always done.

No, he shouldn't. The system is specifically designed to prevent him from doing what he is doing right now.

Article 1, Section 4:
The times, places and manner of holding elections for Senators and Representatives, shall be prescribed in each state by the legislature thereof; but the Congress may at any time by law make or alter such regulations.

His job isn't to decide what is fair, what isn't, etc, because he isn't qualified to do so. He is biased. He could potentially make changes that are only in his interest. This is a serious balance of power issue. He is not supposed to be doing any of the things he is doing to make, in any way, the election not legitimate. He is not supposed to be undermining the election, attempting to destroy public confidence in elections, or interfere with Article 1, Section 4 of the Constitution, the 12th Amendment, or the rights of states to conduct fair elections with oversight by Congress. None of it involves him. NONE. On purpose.

The reason for this should be obvious to anyone familiar with history.

• The voter has symptoms of COVID-19, as defined by the Centers for Disease Control, and has been advised by a personal physician or a county health department to quarantine or self-isolate.
• The voter is a member of a group considered at “higher risk of severe illness” due to age or underlying health conditions and is subject to a “stay at home” or “safer at home” or similar order by the Governor or by an authorized municipal authority.
• The voter has received a written recommendation from a personal physician that due to an underlying health condition the voter should not leave his or her home due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Because the Constitution grants authority to the states, it will be up to them. This is how Oklahoma is doing it.

I want to avoid any questions of voter fraud...shouldn’t we all?
I want to avoid a 2000 Florida fiasco. If mail in voting is expanded and pushed, there is a great chance it will be a contested election.

And if it is left to the states, I guarantee you that the swing states ran by Democrats will take away any restrictions for mail in voting
