If Capel signs the PG from CA and the monster juco post player plus another guy that could help tomorrow he might just save his job for another year. Again last night it was clear we don't have the roster to compete under Capel. The two guys sitting out are not enough to make us competitive. This team doesn't understand its important to play defense all 40 minutes.

Samspon would make this team a winner but Capel needs superior talent, at the very least equal talent to be competitive.

Then again Capel's track record suggests he is in over his head at OU. His roster lacks talent, his team doesn't seem to have a clue on offense and the team lacks defensive want to. A team takes on the personality of the coach. Capel's never had to fight against superior talent to win as a player or coach until he stepped on the court at OU.

"monster juco post player" is where I stopped reading.

Yea, everyone assumes that he will come right in and start...

I guess he might, but only because there is absolutely no other option at Center...

He isnt tearing it up in Juco, and even if he was...it has been proven that Juco guys dont come right in and dominate...on occasion yes, but it isnt the norm...if we get anything "monster" out of Goff it will be his senior year...

I will be happy if he is just good enough to play 20-25 minutes a game and get 6 or 7 rebounds and provide some type of defensive presence inside...

Give me a break. He's a guard coach w/ no guard that could take over games. If Warren was on this team than Sampson could make this team a winner...but than again if Warren was on this team...Capel could make this team a winner as well.
With this seasons roster...I wouldn't expect any coach..and I mean any coach to do any better than Capel. Capel has them playing as hard as they possibly can.

Most of us wish you would stopping reading and typing on here.
How can you be so negative everyday of your life?

A. I don't care if people want me to stop posting.
B. It's not so much as being negative as it is responding to unrealistic stuff.

Could Goff be a decent to good player? Sure. Monster? Nope.

I think the juco guy can rebound, block shots, and give about 15-20 minutes of quality play. That's big considering the kid from Utah that we brought in is doing none of that. I think if the class were to finish with those two guys, it a good upgrade, but they may need one more piece like a slasher. Preferably a certain kid from PCO.

Raney???

Now, HE'S a kid I've enjoyed watching this year. Maybe it's just the games I've seen, but THAT KID stands out more than Richardson...

I could be wrong but I don't think he was talking about Goff. I think he's talking about Jurick. He's saying if Capel signs Guerrero AND Jurick.

If it's Jurick, then i sincerely retract my first comment. Sorry buttermaker if that was the guy you had in mind.

That's who I thought he was referring to as well. I don't think anyone assumes that Goff will be dominant.

IF we get both, what are our expectations for next year?

I thought "recruiting success this spring" was kind of a dead giveaway that he wasn't talking about players you've already signed...

Looking back striking out on Trevor Releford is Capel's biggest miss yet. Releford is probably the best point guard in the SEC as a freshman.

Sunshine on the water looks so lovely,Sunshine almost always makes me cry!Go Sooners!!!!!!!

I've been reading a little about Guerrero and he seems to sound a lot like the PGs we already have. Decent at scoring, can't handle the ball that well. I think Blair is probably starting no matter what next year. I think we need a big time post player. But we really need guards that can score. We lose our best scoring guard this year.
