I hate to even bring this up, but I've had pretty much every osu and ut fan I know text me in the last 5 minutes about "Chokelahoma". While I hate to bring it up, in the last calendar year:

MBB- @osu, isu, @ texas, @ tcu (when they just needed that win to solidify their spot); might have played their way out of the tournament
FB- lost 3/4 "big" games, 2 at home (ksu, nd, atm); reputation for choking on the big stage
SB- Had a 1-0 series lead in the NC, was leading in the 2nd game, playing at home essentially and got smoked the rest of the way
BB- couldn't win a series against ut if ut played 7 position players and ou hit off a tee
WBB- so many injuries this year it's not even fair

Is this moniker starting to stick? Is it fair or is this just something that happens everywhere, but it's a rough stretch. Thought?

Oh please! UT finished almost last in men's and women's basketball. Look at their football team! Ridiculous conversation!

if you really care yes our basketball team pretty much defined chokelahoma down the stretch.

It sticks right now. Basketball is worse than the other programs you mentioned. However, Lon took over an absolute train wreck of a program, just two years ago. Now, we're, at worst, a bubble team.

delete the thread i dont want people even know were discussing this BS.. tejas cant talk about anything... osu blew an easy game at ISU in football to play in the natty. they both suck more

Why would OSU or UT fans bring it up? OU was better than both in football. OSU isn't even close to OU in football or basketball historically. If OU chokes, UT and OSU swallow and I am not referencing food.

You need to be more careful who you give your phone number to.

HEY!!!dont forget about osu's two 1940's national champsionships from the 8 team playoffs that featured contemporary powerhouse teams like NYU, Harvard, and Tufts university (never heard of it)

A thread not worth starting...

It's not worth starting, but you found it worth commenting on? Hmmm..... ;)

It's hard not to watch OU teams falter in big situations and feel like there's a trend, but, like I said, it may be a one year thing outside football. That's why I asked the question- besides, it's not like OU hasn't been called Chokelahoma by national broadcasters on ESPN TV and Radio....
