After last nights Baylor win Sherri and Kim has each won 18 games vs each other... Coach Coale got off to a hot start vs Kim because we had the Paris Twins, but since 2008 Kim and Baylor have gone 11 and 1 vs OU...

With Cox going to Baylor and Nancy going to OU this could be the 1st time both teams have elite level centers at the same time...

Discounting ethics, Kim is probably the best coach in the country not named Geno. The team we saw last night was a well-oiled machine. The gulf between Baylor and Texas is enormous. Much bigger than the gulf between Texas and OU.

That said, I saw a bunch of OU players, outclassed at every position, play Baylor almost to a standstill. While that's a statement on recruiting, it's also a statement on preparation and getting effort.

If I had a D-1 prospect kid, would I rather her play for Sherri? I would not allow her to play for Kim.

I'd rather my kid play for Sherri, but she's be closer to a championship at Baylor then OU...

It's 1523 miles from Waco to Hartford, Connecticut, and only 1406 miles from Oklahoma City to Hartford. That's about as close as I can see either team to a championship in the next few years, unless Nancy changes the game.

I agree with what you said... Even tho Baylor will be hard to stop inside, they don't have the Shooters it'll take to push them to that next level... We'll have to see how the class of 2017 goes but other then Morris there top Targets Richards and Wilson can't consistently shoot the long ball, and both will be 3/4 wings vs 3/2 wings.

Shooters are good to have but they are not always going to win you games. Especially if that's all they can do. Proven fact last night Peyton and Derica were spooked by the physical Baylor defense. They could not get a shot of at all.

Baylor has Wallace who can shoot the 3 consistently and have Natalie Chou coming in who can stretch the floor as well. Of course Jones can shoot the 3 as well. I just don't think Baylor is worried about getting players who can shoot? Sounds like they are getting players who can flat out play. Something we need to do in the 2017 and 2018 classes. We have a head start with Llanusa coming in , I just hope the trend continues going upward instead of just recruiting players who can only shoot.

Neither Peyton nor Derica was intimidated by the Baylor defense. They were intimidated by their own recent history. They had wide open shots last night on multiple occasions, and they didn't shoot. Peyton's first attempt was with what, about a minute left in the game. In the past eight games, Peyton has had games in which she scored zero and one point. Last night was a scoring surge for her. She had seven. This started immediately after she was named Player of the Week.

In the past four games against Texas, West Virginia, Kansas, and Baylor, Derica has taken one, one, two, and one shots, respectively. So, Baylor intimidated her about as much as Kansas did.

You missed the point of my post, but anyway when teams can't shoot they have a hard time scoring and if you can't score you can't win ball games... Tennessee has players you would think can flat out play, but they have struggled, same with Texas...

I say it's mixture of Baylor going upward and OU going downward. No other way to say it
Mulkey is out working SC

Well, lets see.

Please recall that only 2 points separated the teams last night with some 5 minutes left in the game. And it ended with only an 8 point differential even though we missed 19 layups - most of which every team would normally hit. So: ................

1. SC is a better on court coach - unless you are all ready to admit we have out recruited BU lately.
2. SC is a better recruiter - unless you are all ready to admit she out coached KM last night.
3. SC is a better writer.
4. SC is a better teacher.
5. SC is a better at the transfer of ethics to her players.
6. SC is better at getting her players to excel at academics.
7. SC is better at getting into the Coach's HOF.
8. SC is better liked by her fellow coaches.
9. SC is more respected by her fellow coaches.
10. SC has a consistently flashier hairdo.

2. SC is a better recruiter - unless you are all ready to admit she out coached KM last night. You're kidding, right?
3. SC is a better writer. That wins you games
4. SC is a better teacher. The girls look lost on the court half the time
5. SC is a better at the transfer of ethics to her players. Maybe throwing an elbow now and then would be a good thing
6. SC is better at getting her players to excel at academics. But they aren't very smart on the court
7. SC is better at getting into the Coach's HOF. Really, you think they are going to keep Mulkey out?
8. SC is better liked by her fellow coaches. This is probably true
9. SC is more respected by her fellow coaches. Respect and like are two different things. I'd say Mulkey's peers respect her coaching
10. SC has a consistently flashier hairdo. I guess you just needed to get to ten

There is so much that needs to be done with this team and staff, but to think of making a list just makes me tired.

My niece said Monday that are coaches look old and we need younger coaches on the sidelines. She also pointed out that Baylor assistance coaches look a lot younger. That probably what most teen girls think when they see our coaching staff.

I agree big time with this one...

Isn't Sherri younger than Aston or Mulkey?

We're talking about the rest of the staff not the head coach... Teams like Ohio St, Uconn, ND, they all have coaches in there 30s some school even younger... I think someone like Tiffany Jackson Jones if she was looking for a career change would be a good pick up... Just a name I'm putting out there as an example...
