Come back ouleopard thread

I certainly hope ouleopard will reconsider. He's a valued member of the board, and I very much appreciate his contributions.

I've tried multiple PMs to you leopard. Really am sorry. Never knew you didn't want it listed elsewhere. Just want to grow our MBB following as much as possible. And with the amazing info you provide (as well as being my favorite poster) I wanted to share it with a big group that really does care about OU basketball. Also wanted to make sure you get the credit you deserve for said info. I never dreamed it would get to this point and if anything else figured it would be something that would draw more followers to our board as I highly Doubt we would want to turn people away but instead attract them to a board that has been great and has great info in great part because of what info you provide for fans. As I told you In the PMs I have no issue leaving the board as long as you do come back because I want these Guys to enjoy your info and amazing insight you provide these great fans.

My deepest apologies.

We need your knowledge and expertise (some of us more than others and me most of all) so thicken up your skin and contribute.

Nice post, man.

Leopard: This is me, asking you, to please come back. :D

I hope Leopard comes back!

One reason guys don't like their info posted on pay boards is because they have posted in the past. Then the clowns who run the boards say you are wrong with the info. It can be very irritating. No idea if this is his reason.

I admittedly post very little on this board, or any board for that matter. So I am not sure if my words should hold any water here. However, there have been few days since I have joined that I haven't visited this site and browsed. I've enjoyed every bit of it.

I can honestly say, despite numerous squabbles between posters in the past, that this is the first time I find myself disappointed. This whole thing just has a 12 year old take my ball and go home feel to it. Obviously there was miscommunication of some sort, so figure it out. Or is it unreasonable to ask adults to do that? Enough of the begging for this guy to come back. If he is that offended by something this small, he has bigger issues in life to deal with.

I'll go back to my quiet presence now, just needed to get that off of my chest.
Boomer Sooner!

I, like Oklahoma Crew, post very rarely if ever before. However, I checkin a couple of times a day. This thread has prompted me to register and comment.

I thought Leopard's juvenile reaction to his info being posted elsewhere was as pathetic as it could get, until many others on here began to beg him to return with his information.

I enjoy and love the information I get from this site but this whole episode has been comical.

Well, welcome to the board anyways! Hope you stick around

I have communicated with ouleopard a few times in the past year via PM. I don't think he is ignoring the comments, but I know he doesn't visit the board every day. This may be cleared up fairly easily. Give it some time.

Don't bash the guy.

If it was posted behind a pay wall, I get his disdain for it.

It was posted on a pay site: SoonerScoop. Those members aren't paying for basketball information. Some of them dislike anything posted other than information about football. SS used to have a basketball board but posting anything on it was like posting to a black hole. They recently got rid of the basketball board and allow basketball posts on their main board: Crimson Corner. Until recently, any basketball post in CC had members screaming to have it moved to the basketball board that nobody ever looked at.

I'm surprised but basketball is gaining a lot of momentum on CC recently. When that thread was started with the quote from ouleopard, it got a lot of views and "likes". A "like" is when another poster takes the time to single out a post for a positive notation. Those likes are accumulated by a poster and are kind of badge of honor. It was one of the most "liked" threads over the past 2-3 weeks.

Now people are asking for more basketball information. It's gaining some momentum. Jackson supersooner has encouraged their members to come join or at least visit OU Hoops on multiple occasions. I have too. All any of us are interested in is building further support for the OU basketball programs (men and women).

I hope this was just a simple misunderstanding. I know there was no ill-intent meant by Jackson SS. He was trying to encourage their members to join us and was using ouleopard's post as a sample of the kind of information they can read on OU Hoops.

He was telling them there is more than one sport worth following at OU. There was no intent to give them privileged information under the table. Maybe ouleopard is a more comfortable giving some "inside information" to a small group of rabid OU basketball fans than he is supplying it to a larger group of somewhat indifferent fans. If so, we can respect those wishes in future postings.

By the way, I'm guilty of paraphrasing information from this board and posting it over there, too. Last week their football recruiting guru had a thread of the expected football visitors for the Texas Tech game. I mentioned the basketball team had 4 high-profile visitors coming in for the game, too. Some of their members said that was worthy of it's own thread and asked me to post something. This is what I posted:

I mentioned in Josh's (SoonerScoop football recruiting guru) visitor thread that OU's basketball team also has 4 highly ranked visitors this weekend for the Tech game, and got a couple of comments that requested a thread of it's own.

The visitors are:

Kameron McGusty is a Top 50 6'4" wing/guard out of Katy Tx Seven Lakes, and is already a Sooner commit. This is his 5th visit to Norman, and he is a very solid commit who will sign in November. He's actually the player that many tab to take over Buddy Heild's role next season. He blew up on the AAU circuit this summer and is a really good scorer.

Marques Bolden. He's a Top 5 player in the 2016 class and many rate him as the top center. He goes to DeSoto HS (DFW). He's 6'9" and has connections to former Sooner player Jeff Webster. All the big boys are recruiting him but Duke, KU, and Kentucky have been considered his leaders however he included OU in his final 7 schools. OU had evidently felt he was a lost cause and was backing off, but he recently called McGusty and asked why OU quit recruiting him. Kameron called the OU coaches and they set up his official visit to coincide with the same weekend as McGusty's visit (unofficial for McGusty). Bolden is close to his family and Norman is an easy day trip to see him play, whereas none of the other schools on his list are. Plus the Bolden's have a lot of respect for Coach Kruger and his staff. OU is still considered to be a dark horse, but it's a possibility. Bolden is the only 2016 player not already committed to OU that the staff is still recruiting.

Jay Jay Chandler is a 6'3" PG out of Katy Tx Cinco Ranch (west Houston suburb where Kameron McGusty is from, but different HS ..... also Matt Dimon and Rodney Anderson from the football team are from Katy HS's). Crystal Ball has 4 predictions all for Kentucky. He's a 2017 recruit and is considered a Top 50 player.

Isaiah Jasey is a 6'9" 220 lb PF from Killeen Tx (Same town as TaShawn Thomas is from over by Fort Hood). Crystal Ball has 3 predictions all for Texas. He's also a 2017 recruit and considered a Top 50 player.

I know it's too early to tell where a '17 recruit may go.......

The other members of the '16 class along with Kameron McGusty include:

Matt Freeman. 6'9" forward out of New Zealand who will graduate early and join the team in January but the intent is to redshirt him. He is an unbelievable outside shooter for a big man ..... scored 135 points in his final 3 HS games. Basketball recruiting analyst Eric Bossi said if Freeman had played in the US, he would have been a Top 50 player and that OU got a real steal with him. He's not extremely athletic but can shoot better from 3 than any big man I ever remember playing for OU.

Kristian Doolittle out of Edmond. It's reported he has grown 2 inches since committing to OU and is now 6'8". He's also built like Tarzan. He could eventually transition from the wing to a post player.

Darrion Strong is a juco PG who will backup Jordan Woodard in 2016 and maybe start his senior year while a 2017 PG adjusts to the system. He was a 3rd team juco All-American who scored over 21 ppg as a freshman.

I wasn't really saying I personally would be upset, but just that I understand why he might be. If it's posted behind a pay wall, I think it would be more appropriate to provide a small blurb from this site and then provide a link.

Just my opinion

Get the feeling starting threads like this are a sure fire way to make him not come back. Seemed like he enjoyed having his posts and his name embedded in threads as opposed to a "look at me" thing.
