That was a big road win for the Sooners at Baylor Saturday night.

Unlike recent seasons, its November and OU has an opportunity to win a Big-12 Championship in football. Two very tough contests remain, but the opportunity is there. The team is playing hard and Baker Mayfield is a gamer.

Why not?

Awesome game. Two more tough games left. Owen field should be rocking Saturday but TCU will come to play after two dissappointing games the last two weeks.

Bedlam will be, well, bedlam

Made me proud. Intense, determined, passionate play from everyone!!

A great win. I was up till nearly 4am, I was so wound up after it.

You weren't the only one who had trouble relaxing Saturday night, Sky. It's been a long time since I was that excited about a football game.

A great win, to be sure!

It was great. OU fans need to help Baker and figure out how to influence the national media into shaming Tech to let the kid play his fourth year. Surely as a collective we have the contacts and power to get someone to write a story on this. It just isn't right that the kid could lose a year when he never had a scholarship.

not sure i follow. He still gets to play four in five doesn't he? He just had a "redshirt" last year

Tech refused to release him when he left and since he transferred within the conference, he's supposed to lose a year of eligibility.

But I thought tech eventually did "release" him

Nope. If they had, he would be a redshirt sophomore this year instead of a junior. Last year when he sat out also counted as a lost year of eligibility.

Unless some miracle appeal happens, Baker will only get to play 3 years - 1 at Tech and 2 at OU.

He is getting screwed. The media doesn't even seem to know the story. The Oklahoma press apparently didn't even ask Kliff K why is such a prick that he would do this to a kid that was a walk-on. That is a perfectly legitimate question and should be asked by every member of the media over and over until KK is shamed into doing the right thing. It is outrageous that a kid would lose a year ever but especially when he never even had a scholarship. Stoops has never refused to release a kid and no coach should.

I've never understood how they could refuse to release a player they never signed. Or do walkons sign LOI? If not he should be free to do whatever he wants.

I don't understand that either but I don't understand why the media is not all over Tech and KK. Nobody even discusses what a complete prick he is for doing this.

How many of you would crush the dream of a young man? it takes a special kind of jack__s to do that. These football players are kids pursuing a dream. You don't do this to a person and if you do, you deserve to be mocked and shamed by the media. Apparently, our media will yet again demonstrate they have no values by looking the other way as a middle aged man making millions of dollars a year intentionally harms a kid.

Does it have anything to do with football players losing 2 years of eligibility if transferring between Big 12 conference schools? Does that apply even if they are not scholarship players?

Great win indeed. Earlier this season, I was a very harsh critic of this team. I thought they were a little soft and the were a paper tiger. Boy, have they proved me wrong. The offense is balanced and lethal. And I can't believe how much the defense has improved since last season. Unless we have a really bad game taking care of the ball, I just don't see us losing. From an advanced analytics and metrics standpoint, we are noticeably better than the two remaining opponents....and should win out.

I was jacked up, too. I listened to all the post game shows (even WWLS). Then I watched Mike Leach and his Washington State team upset UCLA and then hit the sack round 1:30 am.

If OU wins out, they have a chance to make the playoffs ....... especially if Stanford beats Notre Dame.

If he graduates and doesn't turn pro(very doubtful) could he transfer out of conference to get his 4th season.
