Cousins to NBA Combine...

Don't think he's a nba player but really exciting for cousins

Doubtful he is a 1st rounder but he has a chance to get to the NBA given his work ethic. Anthony Bowie took awhile but he got there. Certainly he will get paid to play overseas. Good luck Isaiah

I compare him to Danny Green, a lot. Green was a second rounder picked 47th in the draft. Both were four year guys, and both from outside of New York City.

Cousins stats were better than Green's all four years he was in school, especially in scoring and 3 point shooting percentage. If Cousins can work his way into the mid 40s of the draft, he'll have a chance of sticking.

Green has about 3 inches on cousins.

Danny Green is 6 4 so is cousins!!! Cousins is a pg at the next level back-up.. Green is just a solid defender and shooter.

Actually, Green is a much better comparison to Buddy. Knock down shooter, guards, moves the ball, great teammate. I think Danny Green is actually the least of what Buddy will be in the league. Buddy can drive it, rebounds better, and plays bigger than his 6-4 frame

Ball handling is the biggest thing that will hold Cousins back IMO.

I don't really see him in the NBA at all, but if he does stick somewhere, I'd have to think it's a last roster spot or two on a bad team.

NBA minimum pay for the last roster spot still pays pretty well.....

I don't worry about Isaiah's ball handling. He can handle the rock. I'm just not sure he thinks like a PG yet, or he doesn't have the vision. Sometimes he doesn't play "smart". Somebody like a Chris Paul sees the defense and knows where he wants to pass the ball a second before.... and knows his options.

Isaiah is really fast (much faster than Woodard), handles the ball OK, and plays very good defense. I think he could become a decent backup over time at PG. He just hasn't played it enough to be completely comfortable yet

Hmm. That seems like his strength to me. Along with his defense.

I was just comparing them based on their college records. Yes, Green is maybe an 1 1/2 to 2" taller than Isaiah but both were good defensive players, Isaiah a bit better ball handler and was 5 to 8 percentage points better than Green on 3 point shots in college.

Cousins may or may not make it as a point guard but he's got the tools to improve. Another comparison I'd throw out is George Hill. As far as college, George was the principal weapon at Indiana-Purdue but some of their stats like assists, steals, blocked shots and 3 point % were similar.

At the end of last season, I thought Cousins was a better NBA prospect than Buddy. Obviously Buddy's unprecedented improvement made that way off base, but Cousins is longer, a better defender, and a great 3 point shooter in his own right. He also has the ability to play point. I would not be surprised at all if he's drafted in the second round. At the very least I'd expect him to get a summer league invite.

I think cousins 3 shot will really diminish shooting nba 3s with his flat shot

I can see him having a Jarret Jack-sort of career. Teams will sign him to play combo off the bench, and if they have a really big roster hole maybe consider him primarily a point guard. He has the defensive tools and enough ballhandling skill that he won't be incompatible with a roster that needs two-way help. If he gets better at decision-making with the ball while going full speed, he might get into that Tyreke Evans tier of guys who aren't superstars, don't have defined roles, but matter every night on the court.

I think when his run/jump measurables come out of the combine, a few of us will have a "DAMN, we're gonna miss him more than I thought" moment.

unfortunately, with the use of analytics, a big revelation has been a good indicator of 3P% in the NBA is actually FT% in college. They say it shows proper mechanics and repeatability in your shot, when the line moves back on you.

Cousins never shot better than 80% but that was soph, going 65% and 67% senior year. I imagine a lot of NBA teams won't see him as much of a potential NBA threat with some of these numbers, even with his 45% and 41.1% 3P percentage the last two years. Hopefully he gets a chance to prove someone wrong though. He obviously is willing to work in the gym plenty on it.
