Naw it wasn't that bad. Those at the game looked like they had a good time (all things considered). Word will spread that Kruger's style is fun to watch and these kids play hard.

I really liked the intensity of this group on both ends. Just need to work on a bunch right now.

The intensity looked real good. The crowds will grow on games other then Friday night. College kids don't think, wow it's friday night let's go watch idaho st. Nah they think man where is the party tonight.

I sit in W1 and they asked us three times to move down.

Crowd was decent..people left at halftime..i don't understand that.

We actually had more than 10 students in the lower bowl tonight. It's a start.

I didnt do my part tonight :facepalm Wifeys out of town, sick kiddos were all on me. I'm gonna have to miss next week too as we will be in Waco for the football game.

After that, I'll be at all of them with a few friends as well.

No expectations but to see these kids grow in Lon's system and get just a little better game-by-game.

Krugers style of basketball is alot of fun to watch. Interesting to see how the crowds will differ between now and the end of the year.

Box score says there were 7,622, but that is obviously paid. My guess is actual attendance was somewhere around 4,000. Maybe a little less.

I thought the crowd was great tonight for the first game. Don't know what you saw my man.

I was there. I thaught there was not many students and then I realized that the there were a significant amount of students on the floor on the north side. I like that addition to them sitting on the floor. The problem is that I was using lower bowl north side season tickets and no one else was in my row until they started letting people come down. That will change with better opponets

And remeber Last Night was High School Playoffs for Football. That would make some difference.

Thank ksSooner13 for that...he realized that many students were unaware that they could come down to the floor seats, so he went up into the main student section and convinced people to come down to the floor.

I agree totally T_Neal's Twitter.... we're not going to have the sell-outs we had with Blake or with Sampson and Tubbs YET, BUT for being the first game w/ a new coach on a friday of a bye weekend in football i was very pleased with the crowd there tonight, it will only get better from here

Good guess. The stats on Soonersports.com puts the attendance at 4,308. It's listed as the estimated attendance. However, unless there has been a change in the way OU calculates the number of fans who show up at each game, 4,308 is actual tickets collected at the entrances. It's not an "estimate" at all.

The transition won't happen overnight but I think there were a lot more people there for this game than either exhibition. The fact that they are putting forth the effort to get the crowds back by doing little things (the frat dinner, the high-fiving fans after the game, the cheaper tickets) is good enough for me right now.

geez, rough crowd.

i think many have simply forgotten what exactly the last few years of Capel actually looked like. yes, there were losses. but quite simply the team looked like they had no hope, no idea what was going on and nothing to build on.

Lon has already tapped into these guys and will continue to do so. we might be .500 but they're going to fight for it.

Maybe attendance is slow everywhere due to economic conditions.
UCLA, Stanford and Zona State each drew less than 5,000 for their home
games last night.

I agree. Jeff Capel was a joke. If not for Blake Griffin he would not have ever made the post season. Joe C screwed up on that one.
