We have 3 top 100 players on the roster still from 2009 and 2010. Cam Clark, Fitz and Pledg. All from Espn. If we went with Rivals we would have 4 adding Romero Osby. If we can get some good play from Goff and and add a couple of good role players, this team could be a decent team. Maybe an NCAA tourney type team. I believe!

I hate to be a killjoy but the lack of talent on the roster is one of the reasons OU had a hard time finding a coach.

Barring some huge offseason developments or some spring signing surprise, this team will go as far as Osby and Clark take it.

And the Big 12 just got tougher.

not sure i agree. we aren't Kentucky but we do have a decent nucleus in Cam, Fitzgerald and Pledger with Osby back. after that, not a lot of depth.

I think Kruger will get a couple of his UNLV commits to head to Norman.

we have a shortage of talent, yes....but we aren't completely VOID of talent.

Osby will be a talent upgrade....Goff will probably stay and will provide some help with the lack of size.....and anyone else LK can add to the roster to help will be good. Noone said we would be top in the conference but, with good coaching, we aren't far from being post-season caliber.

We are definitely a couple of years away from being upper level in the conference (top 4) but we aren't as far away as you think.

1-2 guys can make a HUGE difference in hoops. We have several guys that would be SOLID role-players.

speculation?

definitely speculation. But if he brings his entire coaching staff with him and adds Terry Evans, I think he can get a couple guys to switch to OU. Evans has connections in this region on the high school and AAU front since he coached Athletes First for several years. Just my opinion.

To add to what this topic is about, OU could go get some very talented Juco players. There seem to be a lot open in the Rivals top 150 jucos. I'm sure he'll hop on it when he gets settled. Also, Nevada is loaded in the 2012 class. I'm sure he has some connections and to add OU has plenty of connections to where these players are coming from. Bishop Gorman. Ellenberg on the womens team is from there and OU has recruited Murray and Reynolds in football from there. That school isn't foreign to OU athletics. I believe you add Kruger's Las Vegas connection with OU's connection to that school and OU could have a special 2012 class. Again, just my opinion. Just spit-balling my thoughts out here.

I'm not so sure we had a hard time finding a coach.

Me either, we got probably the most qualified candidate out there...by far. Lot's of speculation, but who "turned us down" that had a better resume than Lon Kruger? Link please.

It sounds like we just couldn't get Williams in the end. But he's the guy OU wanted the most. Kruger was probably the only other guy they really looked at. The Weber, Pastner stuff...just weren't gonna happen, we weren't looking at them.
