Does the Big 12 keep the tourney in Kansas City next year?

I was thinking with Missouri being gone next year, They may bring it back to maybe OKC or Dallas. What are the chances the Big 12 doesn't bring it back to KC?

I think they are signed up for at least one, if not two more. The women may be in Dallas next year.

MU shouldn't have any bearing as to whether they play in KC or not. I tire of people arguing that the money shouldn't be spent in Mo. with no team in Mo.

after this contract is up it should never be in the State of Missouri again. In fact the league should immediately adopt a policy making it a violation of league rules for any championship event to be in St. Louis or KC.

Well if that's the case maybe they should take out KC and add Wichita to the rotation. I don't see any reason to play in Missouri again.

There's been a tourney in KC for 40 years - long before this league ever thought of sniffing Texas. I don't have a problem with other sites having the games but this attitude is rubbish.

Only b/c KU is normally good, and playing in most all of the rounds. Now with Mizzou gone, we'll see what the turnout is like next year. Sorry, but I'm sick of reading comments like this. I saw plenty of empty seats that first night.

Edit: And much like every other sporting event, butts in the seats isn't what puts money in the bank. I'm guessing tickets sold between KC, Dallas, and OKC are about the same. The tickets are sold, so even if KC has a few more fans actually show up, the Big 12 really shouldn't care too much about that.

Can you imagine the throngs of OU, OSU, and Tech fans flocking to see their teams one and done after not showing up at games all year? As I said I have no problem with rotation or whatever. I go to the women's games as opposed to the mens. Your reasoning is ridiculous. Did your momma get scared by a Tiger when she was pregnant? Should no tax dollars to to the state of Texas because A$M jumped ship? BTW, the Sprint Center is about two miles from Kansas, not down in the Boot Heel. The tourney pumps about 60$ million into the local(read Kansas and Missouri) economy and not just into state coffers. Businesses as well as people in both states benefit from the weekend. Store owners, waiters, waitresses, etc., all make money and in turn spread the money throughout the local economy.

Why should the Big XII tournament and it's fans support the economy of a state that moved to another conference? The SEC conference is welcome to add KC to their tournament rotation.

KU fans will travel so placing the tourney in Dallas or OKC will not result in fewer KU fans. In fact, I flew from KC to Houstonthis past week and changed planes in OKC. The old big 12 store is now an ea sports store with OU, OSU, and Thunder apparel. I spoke with the manager and she said the hottest selling memorabilia when it was the big 12 store was the KU stuff. They also have a huge alumni base in DFW as well as in Oklahoma.

The fans that attend when it's in KC who won't travel (to OKC or DFW) as well are the ISU fans and of course MU. If KSU is good, their fans travel in droves. Hopefully, the 2 Oklahoma schools will improve enough to buy those seats when it's in OKC.

I apologize for calling the post moronic. Nothing about you. And certainly nothing worse. Seems you don't have that problem though. I don't know what the breakdown is for where the tax dollars go. Pretty obvious you don't either. Maybe instead of wearing out the caps key you could do some research. I know quite a few people that stayed, ate, and shopped in Kansas. I know even more that earned money and went back to Kansas and spent it. I do live in KC(as obviously you don't) and could personally care less if it's here or not. As I stated, I go to the womens games, not the mens. I want nothing to do with an excuse for tens of thousands of KU and MU fans to be in the same place. Has nothing to do with being a homer. Why do people equate it being in Missouri to being in the outer limits. I don't have a map in front of me but I would bet the three remaining schools are closer to KC than the Texas schools are to Houston(I could be wrong). Are you going to lobby for West Virginia to be included in the rotation? Just wanting to make sure all members get their fair share of the taxes.
