Easily the National POY, right?

That guy is ridiculously good. Would love to have seen him play in a better conference, on a team with a little more help. But the guy has had an amazing season, and even better career.

He'll win it easily - not even close.

He won't really earn POY respect, however, unless he can take the Bluejays deep into the tournament- for the reason you said about their conference.

I am not sure what to think about their team. They can look awesome and they can look just OK.

Poor ISU, they hired his dad thinking they would get to watch Doug wear crimson and gold only to see him have a dismal career in Ames then leave for Creighton and take his son with him. Put him on ISU and they have a great team, but his dad wouldn't have assembled that same roster in Ames as they have now.

He deserves to win it, for sure. I'm curious about his game at the next level. I see him as an impact player, but don't have the knowledge many on this board have regarding things like "athleticism", "handles", etc.

His son signed a NLI with northern Iowa and was never headed to Iowa State. Doug wasn't even the best player on his HS team.

Kinda of like Davidson when Steph Curry was there. Live and die by the three

THe level of competition he's playing against isn't bad at all.

Schools like Georgetown, Xavier and Marquette are having big time down years, but they still have talent and more importantly, athletic defenders. He's not doing this against a bunch of undermanned, unathletic teams. He's a deserving winner.

Hard to be the best player when the other guy was #1 in his class. Read somewhere that said those two just went at it in practice everyday, I love when the stars are also your best practice players.

this the "new" big east is a very good basketball conf .. butler would have been a NCAA team as well until they lost their best player to injury (preseason)

Villanova is likely to get a 1 seed .. and the conf has a shot at 4 or 5 bids
