If I believed that for even a moment, we would not have had the discussions that we have had.I would just like to have something positive to talk about.

At this stage of her career, Griner probably wouldn't have played on the national team either.
On the season Nancy Mulkeys numbers are 7points 7rebounds and 2 blocks...
I watch the games, enjoy the competition have a favorite player or two and am sad to see them go after four years.
I don't predict. The only occupation in which one can win at predicting is mortician (weathermen are making a run at it though they are about as successful as some on this board.)
I sat in LNA when there were fewer than 500 in attendance and I sat when it was packed. I root for the Sooners through the highs and the lows.
I am perplexed by our recent performance level but no less adamant in my support. I know one thing for sure, I know too little to know, not opine, know what changes need to be made. I worked for years with university students in areas that were subjective (athletic performance is subjective) and while an accredited and acknowledged teacher in my discipline, there were times when talented, driven, motivated, conscientious students failed at what they were trying to do and I didn't know how to help them.
So, what do we make of what Coach Coale actually said about the team and game in her post-game interview.
1. This team just isn't any good right now.
2. The coaches told the players what they needed to do and the players did not do it.
3. In particular, they stood around.
Also, in the clip shown on TV before the start of the second half, she told the team that the key to success was that they needed to continuously talk to each other, and that from that their energy would come.
That was a shot?
If all it is is mediocre, hang it up and we'll see you in 2016.
Some of us have been saying for sometime that OU doesn't have the talent we need to compete with the big girls. A few refuse to listen and continue to say we have plenty of talent. Pardon the French but that's BS. When we sign players who are not highly recruited, we are settling for lesser players. That has to change if we can even think of getting back to the days of attending a final four. Right now, we are not anywhere close to having that kind of talent. Sherri is the only one who can change the direction of our recruiting and she better not wait long.

Norm, it does not appear that "big girls" are part of the plan for OU anytime in the near future. Just take a look at the recent rosters... I don't know how true it is, but if it is true, it's sad considering the contributions made by these players. Yes, it's a rumor but from a very good source...supposedly SC has stated that she does not want anymore "fat" post players after CParis, AParis and AOlajuwon. So you might be out of luck thinking that we'll get post players with some size to compete at the top DI level.
Norm, notice I never said I don't know much about women's basketball. I will simplify it for you.
I said I did't know enough to know what changes need to be made. It's obvious the biggest change is winning more games, I can't say with your authority that we need to jump and tweet to Texas to solve our problems.
Please refrain from putting words in my mouth.
If we had better players, some of you would complain about spending too much time recruiting. We went to the Final Four in 2010. When was the last time the men went to the Final Four? Why don't you go to the men's board and complain that the men don't know what they are doing?
Indeed, the women have been to the Final Four three times in the past twelve years. The men have been to three Final Fours in a hundred twenty years. Boy, the women have a lousy coach.
I wasn't literally talking about heavy girls. I meant elite teams. Similar to someone saying we can't compete with the big boys (elite teams). I should have been more clear.
Oh! Ok...got it. I took it literally. DAdams (TAM, Silver Stars) really, really wanted to attend OU. I asked her when she was at the JC. The antithesis was to get NGriffin. Nice girl I'm sure, but not what I would consider a dominate presence in the post.
I am making a blatant accusation of sexism. As far as you are concerned, you have always hated Sherri. Since you have appeared on the board, nearly all of your posts have been anti-Sherri, and I think we were still going to Final Fours at the time.Really? When did one have anything to do with the other? It's not like the women's team is the Men's B Team. That is beyond comparing apples to oranges. That's comparing apples to residential property. Personally, I could care less what's going on with the men's team.

Make a list of all of the coaches who have been to three Final Fours in the past twelve years.
How many are on it?
How many come from states that actually cancelled a women's basketball program?
Now, that is a rather sexist post.First and foremost...I do not "hate" anything about SC. But what I dislike and have complained about is the fact that she has not LED a staff and program for which she is responsible to do the very best POSSIBLE. Yes, I complained during FF's because the recruiting was (and continues) to stink up the place. I knew then that the lack of top notch recruiting would land us where we are today. Yes, it appeared to me that she was more excited about what shoes she would wear next, where she could shop for the finest of clothes and if she could meet Oprah...rather than showing the same passion for recruiting and LEADING the best possible WBB program at OU. If that's your idea of "hate"...so be it.
