ESPN+ column

In other words, the LNC is not the only thing that needs to improve!

College basketball is not en vogue like in our younger days and it might very well stay that way. I remember last year someone posted a pic of McCasland Field House in days yore and the arena was filled with people wearing hats and I really don't see that style returning any time soon. Oh well.

A nice new arena would be great, but I am of the opinion that its impact on attendance would be short-lived.

Agreed. It's not the program changer some make it out to be.

It absolutely would. Selling tickets has never been a big problem

Getting those who buy the tickets to show up is the issue.

Lots of big money donors. Buy tickets so that they can go to the KU game and the osu game. And maybe a big non con game.

They don’t need the money. So they don’t really worry about selling unused tickets.

And a smaller arena wont fix that. The atheltic department will still sell the same number of those tickets so there will be even less people at most games than there are right now.

I saw OU when they came to Cole Fieldhouse in Maryland. I think there was a decent OU crowd.

I also saw OU v. San Diego St in Philthy in 2013. Poor crowd on for both sides but what would one expect for an OU-San Diego St game in Philthy at 2200.

I did see the preceding game between Florida Gulf Coast v. Georgetown. Great game! Place was rocking for that one! FGC dunking all over GU.

We didn't travel with the team. You'd be surprised at some of the deals you can get going to some of these places. You just have to have the time and a sports-loving and understanding wife. At Atlantis we stayed at the cheaper resort right next to Atlantis. Orlando we parlayed a three day Disney trip for my daughter into some basketball. I love going to the holiday neutral site games. My wife put her foot down when I asked to go to South Dakota last year or year before... Would love to go to Hawaii if they ever go back.

Awesome. SD game would’ve been extra sweet.

Vacation for her bball for me! One day when I stop coaching maybe!

just to be clear ... my "it absolutely would"

was agreeing with his "it would be short lived"
