I know it is usually early June but does anybody have any info on an exact date this year?
I am pretty excited for the game as it looks like we should have three Sooners in attendance with Cameron, T.J. and Tyler.

Usually not.

Reminds of this fool oSu poster Indy who totally lied about being there the year Taylor played.

Yeah, i've seen quite a few of that idiot's posts. He's so blinded by his hate of OU it clouds every post he makes.

Here's what Indy said about Neal.

"Tyler Neal is a guy that was certain to be a significant player at the mid major level. He has very good hands, solid fundamentals, high basketball IQ, and a really nice shooting touch. I can see why people make the Morrision comparisons. There is no way he is anything like Boddicker. He is more of a true small forward. Brian Boddicker was an inside player that had some perimeter shooting skill.

The biggest question I have about him at the next level is his lateral quickness and explosiveness. He doesn't have the athleticism of Cade Davis. Will he be able to get his shots off against athletic defenders and will he be able to defend?

Look around the Big 12 at the 3 spot and you don't find many guys playing major roles that lack athleticism. He is definitely a guy that can come off of a series of screens and bury a jump shot, but I don't think he is going to an offensive system that is going to help accentuate those strengths. Put him on a team like Texas Tech (motion) or Butler (multiple screens to free periemter shooters) and he would be a real asset. If OU sees him as a zone buster and program player, then he is a good get. If they are counting on him to be an Adam Morrison type star player, then they are setting themselves up for some disappointment."

Never seen him have a post about him hating OU in 3 years.

I was looking for info on this too and never found anything. I'll try and do some more digging.

So does that mean Cade is more athletic three fourths of the team combined?

The Faith 7 used to be a big deal in the late 70's. I used to go when I was an undergrad (summers of '77-79, then I had to start looking for a "real job" so I missed it in '80). I also saw some games in the mid-80's, including a great game by a raw talent from Lawton High named Stacey King.

I think it's still played at OBU around the weekend of Father's Day. It doesn't get the pub it did 30 years ago, though.

TMG refused to play in this game last year. Rumor was that he showed up and after looking around he decided not to play. Maybe an early sign of things to com?

He said that he went to the Faith 7 game the year that Taylor, Austin Johnson and all the oSu kids from Texas were playing...he seriously said that he did not think that Taylor had a D-1 ready body. If there was ANYTHING that Taylor had at that point it was a D-1 ready body [and he was probably the best "athlete" in the game too]. Guy lost every ounce of credibility that he had ever had with one stupid statement that was clearly made up out of thin air.

So he was supposed to be a significant player at the mid-major level, hits open shots, has high basketball I.Q. and blah, blah, blah....but isn't going to be Adam Morrison and may have trouble "defending" based on being a sub-par athlete at the 3.

Seriously, that is the most double-speaking contrived description of a player that I have ever heard. It's like, yep, he could be pretty good on this level, but not as good as a NPOY and first round NBA draft pick...but if he is good, I made sure to say it, throw in a stereotype or two, and I actually sound informed. Guy is worse than "Wild Aggie Bill" and his NFL draft expertise.

Best player in that game didn't even go division 1, at least not straight out of high school. Wish I could remember his name. Had an awesome game though.

Did Taylor Griffin look less athletic than the oSu recruits? He was the most athletic guy there.

Some perimeter shooting skill? Boddicker averaged 8 points a game during his career at Texas and the only time I ever saw the guy score was on 3pt shots. He was a 40-something percent 3pt shooter.

Perhaps Neal has more small forward skills, but in todays game your 3 needs to be able to handle the ball and defend guards... I just don't see Neal defending the 2's and 3's of the Big 12.

ABD,

Don't bother, "Indy" is either blind, stupid, or the absolute WORST judge of talent on the planet. Can't blame it on him, but some other fool had Blake at 6'6".

The Faith 7 is a fun game to play in. I had fun, just wish we would have won the game instead of losing on a buzzer beater.

Brett,
I had the honor of coaching the Oklahoma team in 2005. The Texas team had 7 future Big 12 players and was heavily favored. We missed some key free throws late in regulation that would of sealed the victory. The game was played with lots of emotion....which is pretty rare in All-Star games. I left the game....as did Coach McCasland from Texas... impressed with the competitive spirit of our Oklahoma kids. You guys made me proud to be an Oklahoman.
Thanks again for representing the state of Oklahoma with your great effort.
