Favorite OU vs Kansas game in Norman?

Remember the Everett pass off the backboard to Taj Gray for a dunk that season?? I don’t think it happened in the KU game....but one of my fav fast breaks!! The play Reaves had to Kuath this year reminded me of that play!!

My all time FAV dunk still has to be the 360 dunk by Angelo Hamilton on the road against Duke!!! “Fire up the buses baby!!!” We almost made Vitale eat crow by that comment!!!

How about Lavender to Taj Gray for a jam that damn near blew the lid off the LNC against OSU?

Or lavender between the legs to Gray for the dunk that DID blow the roof off?

My dream game is to be in Lawrence to see us win there. Just waiting on the right team. I Almost went Buddy’s senior year. Should have.

The '03 game was good, too. Got off to a huge lead on a Sunday game in blizzard conditions. Almost blew the lead entirely but hung on. First half was a blast, though. And of course beating them 48 hours after Mizzou in '90...

That I witnessed: 2002 Big 12 Tournament Championship. Best domination: 1990 semis in Big 8 tourney. But these don’t count because they were in KC.

That I watched on TV: I would say maybe the 2005 game but probably the 1995 game in Norman.

i'll say 1990 since my buddy and i watched it in Colorado Springs. He was from LA and later that night after a few many cervezas decided to get in my Cutlass and drive to Norman for the Mizzou game. same result, good times. slept at my mom's, saw her for about an hour, went to the game....drove back to CO.

he still does a respectable impression of the girl sitting behind us yelling: "SKEEEEEE-TTTEEEEEERRR!!!!!

he's got no twang but we laugh.

The game in '87 was fun. Before the game, a student loudly told the irritating Mark Turgeon, "You SUCK!" And it ended up right - a last-second shot by the good guys. That was the same week that the epic OU-UNLV game happened on a snowy Saturday in Norman.

Speaking of Turgeon, he missed the potential game-winner and stomped his foot like a little brat. I think Ricky Grace blocked it. I think it was Grace that also scored with a couple of seconds left to put OU ahead by two.

All good choices. My favorites are all the times we beat them. It doesn’t happen enough. Although the 95 game is a little extra special for me.

Still has to be the 95 game. I doubt LNC could ever get louder.

Agreed, thought this game would be mentioned more.

Such great memories of those early Sampson teams. Minor. Abercrombie. Ontjes. Minor was the real deal. His is the only basketball jersey I've ever bought.

And LNC was NUTS! Oklahomans respect hard work and tough play. I think you'd see better crowds and a better following of the program if we did more of those little things, even if the end result was the same.

Not a game in Norman, but I think my favorite OU/KU game was the Big 12 CG in 2002. OU won that one 64-55 against the #1 team in the country. OU was #4 at the time. That KU team was LEGIT. Tons of talent. That is still one of the best defensive games I've ever seen a team play. Jabahri Brown straight up dominated Collison and Gooden (I think) inside. KU couldn't do anything that day. KU had 19 points in the first half.

that was a good one, for sure.

That pass was unbelievable! That was probably one of my top 2-3 favorite teams ever. That stretch was fun with those teams. Lavender & Gray were two of my favorite players, Bookout, Gilbert, Everett were all fun to watch.. McKenzie was underrated. The following year we lost a few of those guys, but added Neal and Carter who I really enjoyed watching. Godbold and Austin Johnson were up and coming.
