Good grief. And the Hornets fans cheer. Stay classy New Orleans.

That foul wasnt a big deal. It was a close game, Blake is an awful free throw shooter, and Smith just ran through him. He didnt push him, throw him, trip him, etc. He just ran through him, as well he should. Its either that or Blake puts you on SportsCenter. If I was an NOH fan, I would have cheered. If I was his coach, I would have told him he made the right play.

If that foul wasn't a big deal, why was the Hornet player tossed from the game? Any fool could see that the Hornet player didn't have to knock Blake to the floor to accomplish his objective.

The bolded sentences is a perfect example of why I'll never be more than a casual fan of pro sports.

Lay off the drinky...he didn't even make an attempt at the ball. Basketball is a rough sport lets be honest, but it isn't football... Shots like that need to be punished. He should be riding the pine for at least 3 games for crap like that.

It was a terrible foul, but of course the fans are going to yell at a time like that. The players were squaring off and yapping at each other, the tension was high -- of course the crowd was loud. The same thing would happen in OKC or anywhere else.

Watch Chris Paul. He's one of the first players on the scene, but then backs off a bit to allow other players to get between him and Smith. Then he goes into tough guy mode and starts pointing at Smith. :ez-laugh:

It would not have been a big deal if they were playing hockey. Maybe a 2 minute minor for charging, but you cannot throw a body check in basketball. It was a cheap shot.

Didn't make a play on the ball, two games is a suitable penalty.

Like has been said, my only problem with the play is he didn't even swipe at the ball. If he does that, I don't have a problem with it.

True. All those classy OSU Thunder fans love to boo Blake when he's in town. Had this happened in OKC, they would've been line dancing in the stands.

3 game suspension? It should have just been a regular personal foul. All he did was run in a straight line and put his body on a guy who dunks all over everyone. Jason Smith made a hell of a play to get all the way back down the court and stop the dunk.

That exact same kind of play happens in SOCCER every couple of minutes. Running through the ball, through the man with the ball, through the play. Happens in soccer all the time. Somebody gets knocked down in basketball and these 6'11'' 260 pound freaks cant take it, lol.

Funny how the offensive player can be totally out of control, jump into a defender on the break, put his knee/body in his nuts, stomach, chest, etc, and totally run him over and its just a charge. Defensive player runs through the play and he gets ejected. See the problem here? Some charges are much more violent than this play, and its just a regular foul.

Dude...also put down the pipe...this isn't soccer, football, or rugby. ITS BASKETBALL and a clear flagrant foul! You have to make a play on the ball for it to be a regular personal foul. He threw his should into Blake while running full speed down court. You need to re-watch the clip. :facepalm

A regular personal foul? Not even an intentional or flagrant? now you are trolling.

Also in addendum to the message above, hard fouls are awesome in basketball. I am a firm believer in making people earn their shot, but that was a clear flagrant not even attempting to make a play on the ball foul.

Are you really comparing basketball to soccer? That is just wrong. :D
