Florida at OU

Terrible end to the first quarter.......

Freshmen pg comes in and makes two buckets.....should have been three but it didn't drop. And she is subbed out?????

Penzo back in....

Maddie loses the ball and then gets the tie-up..and possession..with one second left in the quarter...essentially losing two possessions.:eddie187_jpg_xs:

I don't understand the substitutions.....or the players selected to play.

This is another pathetic display.

This goes to show you how simply dumb SC is these days....the starters have a combined 2 points. Why start Penzo? Why keep starting Simpson? Is this woman blind or does she actually want this team to fail? I don't understand her. All I do know is that with her as a coach we will fail, year in and year out we will never be as good as we could be.

Vivi is plain pathetic anytime she plays anyone close to her size/height. Manning has proven time and time again her ball handling skills are mediocre at best. Ortiz is consistently inconsistent. Simpson is her usual self and adds absolutely no value to the team. So what does that leave us with? Pellington and LLanusa and the hopes that Manning can hit a few shots and be productive offensively, in between her ball handling errors and turnovers.

God I really hate being a OU WBB fan this year so far. I stick with my earlier observation in that anytime we play a remotely athletic and competitive team we will lose. And don't anyone dare say "well Belmont is good, they are a NCAA tournament team!" because that statement is a joke.

I'm just hoping a miracle will happen and we play unlike we have all year and storm back to win this one, but yet we are in another big hole to come out of - probably for the season.

On the other hand, go Big 12 schools who are winning today or at least competing (OSU is putting up a great fight agains Miss State!)

Nailed it!!!

Our best strategy is to start playing the freshmen....maybe they can get some experience and some conditioning at the same time. What do the players do for conditioning?

This team is not good.

The starting line-up.....really???

Something needs to change!

How can a team shoot 29% on their home court? This isn’t the first time this has happened. Pathetic.

The two freshmen leading the scoring.....

SC needs to tell Pellington she is going to play the whole game every game. No silly fouls 35 feet from the goal. No wild shots. I think Pellington thinks she has to score to stay in the game. She needs to know she will play most of the game if she doesn't screw up.

Ana may also be trying too hard......

I try to stay optimistic, but this may be the year we miss the tourney. If we do it could be a wake up and staff shake up.

This team is full of bad decisions....coaches and players.

Ortiz....zero points

Vivi.....two points, two rebounds

This is by far the worst team I've seen at OU, ever. I started watching in 2002. Ours are our biggest problem. Ortiz is not 5'9", she's 5'5" and cannot make a layup. Vivi is slow as molasses and against any athletic interior player she is exposed. Manning is not the player everyone hopes year after year she can be. She can't dribble to save her life sometimes. I've already voiced my opinions about Simpson and Williams. The sad thing is SC was CRAZY recruiting Williams for years...and for what? This girl hasn't been a valuable part of our team, ever. That's the kind of stuff I'm talking about. SC sees potential in players, but doesn't face the facts that that's all it is most of the time. And meanwhile other teams actually recruit good players and we are left with leftovers. I will say occasionally we get lucky, but it is very rare that a player comes to OU and SC makes them better.

I do not think we will go to the tournament this year. In fact, I hope we are horrible and we struggle to win games, because I hope that means SC get fired and we get someone better in there that isn't burned out. Those poor freshmen (Shaina and ana), I just hope they stick it out and don't transfer.

We have now lost EVERY SINGLE game in this SEC challenge. We are an embarrassment to our conference. Every single big 12 team has actually been competitive today, this scares me. Can we win even 6 conference games this year? Def looking like OSU will sweep us this year, along with UT, BU, WVU.

Lot of work to do. We have some good freshmen, just not enough of them to bring Maddie and Ortiz off the bench, which is what SC should be doing.

I felt sorry for the announcers......trying to paint a pretty picture of this team is tough.

Sherri says it's back to the drawing board.....

Florida....12-26 at the three point line 46%

OU .......3-20......................15%

Florida has 21 turnovers to our 7 and still whooped our butts by 19...enough said.

Wow! SC was more pissed and critical than I have heard her be. She even apologized to the fans. She singled out poor play of Vivi, Maddie and Ortiz.

I am usually bummed out at this time of year and then the team seems to come on pretty strong the first of the year. This could be the year it doesn't happen. So many things that scare me.

Getting smoked on the boards by what appears to be a pretty ordinary team.

ViVi disappearing. So many missed layups and several with no chance from the getgo. When we take those it is the same as a turnover.

Are Simpson and Penzo the best we have to start a game. Sherri has always been a little partial to her seniors and she seems to always have someone she has more confidence in than I do. Last year it was Edwards and this year it is Simpson. Simpson and Williams are marginal Div I players and Penzo not even that.

I watch every UConn game on my computer and the improvement in those players is light years ahead of the improvement of our players from year to year. A lot of it is athletic I understand but they have great spacing on offense, constant ball and player movement and great judgment on shots.

I am usually a glass half full person but having a hard time being that with this team.

I wonder if some psychological ploys are backfiring on coach. With Penzo and LaNesia, you lose too much offense. It is now up to Gabbi, Simpson, and Vivi to score, and they are not good unless they are left open by the scoring of others. I think she was trying to inspire Maddie into taking charge. Did the same thing last year. It is time to quit playing games. We should know who the players are, and we should be trying to develop a flow.

Twenty-three points in the first half only results from a team that has no flow. We started a group that has no flow and won't develop any. It put us behind from the start, playing catch up. I think this is the worst mistake that I have seen Sherri make. She needs to put Vivi, Maddie, Ana, Shaina, and Gabbi on the floor and let them develop their flow. They could have done it against a weak defense like Florida's. Shoot and crash the boards so you don't become reticent to shoot and miss. I don't think you can develop and attack message by sitting people as a part of a message.

Sherri said that Shaina could have scored in the first half if she had played any defense. Maybe. But, sending a message may be too expensive. Send her a telegram.

The talent is therel. It has to learn to flow. What happened after Belmont and DePaul? Something got loose?

I'm afraid this dumpster fire is only going to get worse. If you watched the body language of the players while they were trying to hold up the ones for the OU chant, you had to see players that were done. I hope not for the year, but, Ortiz, Manning, and
Vivi told a lot. Ortiz shaking her head. They are done with the team or the coaches. Maybe both.

Why were there only four players on the bench? Illness, injury or not on the team?
