Hawkins can play in 4 regular season games and still redshirt. I suspect this week and the Kent St game will be two of those.

Is he out of eligibility? If not, why would he leave? He throws way too many sidearm passes to think he'd be a high draft pick at this point. But if he has eligibility left, he'll make a lot of money in college next year.
i don't think he'll play much unless there is a serious injury to mateer.
and i'm not too worried about mateer leaving for the nfl after this season.
he's going to have to learn to throw the ball a whole lot better to be an nfl qb.

Lol, I’m taking CT’s comment to be that he’s going to NFL?
Mateer is an NFL-guy for sure although I imagine he’s likely back next season to maximize draft positioning.
I'm not a scout so I'm not going to argue with you. He doesn't strike me as a 1st round pick but wouldn't mind being wrong. Since we're in the NIL era, I can't see a QB who can make a ton of money in college leave early for the NFL unless he was good enough to be a 1st round pick.
