I understand the thinking behind Xrob taking a knee but Tennessee had 2 timeouts. Just score.
The pass on first down…that’s a fireable offense. Just completely insane. Brent had to override the OC and demand a run play. One more first down and the game might be over. Complete malpractice to pass the ball there.

If we had run the ball late, instead of passing and turning it over, Tennessee finishes the game with 17 points. That’s pretty good defense. Once again, the offense stresses the whole game with their stupid play.

The turnover sucked, but otherwise it was a great 2nd half. We can win every game if we get that 2nd half performance for a whole game.

I agree, Wayman. I thought they’d kick deep, load the box to try to stop the run, and hope to get the ball back down two with a minute left. It’s a tough call so I don’t think it was a terrible decision, but there is definitely an argument to kick deep.
Regardless, hats off to our line. I didn’t like our chances to get a first down if we just tried to run it up the middle multiple times, but it didn’t even take more than one snap. And I love the fact that X had the presence of mind to look to the bench and see whether they wanted him to score. That was another tough call … we couldn’t run the clock out, and making it a two score game is hard to turn down. It worked out well that we forced them to burn one more timeout and still got the 7 pts. But lots of players would have spaced out and forgotten to check with the sideline.

Also, subtle thing, but good work by Brent by not going for two after our third quarter touchdown. He learned from last week. That’s a good sign.
Yup, Tennessee didn't have an answer for our offense in the second half, which is never something I thought I'd say this year. We were in FG range in each of the final five possessions. Great time for a bye week with Mateer. There will be no more excuses.

Everyone needs to remember at bama in 2 weeks.
He will be almost 2 months out of surgery with a bye week to prepare. They're a tough team, but he needs to play well. We can beat them if he does.
