If things are as bad on the o line as I’m reading on other sites then I don’t see OU winning on Saturday unless Mateer becomes Superman. You can’t win games in the SEC without a running game.

I’m assuming he’s speaking about Everett and Sexton. Everyone else from my understanding should be available and assuming that’s the case, the OL should be just fine this weekend. We gotta remember this Auburn team got torched by Baylor. Sawyer Robertson threw for 419 yards and 4 TDs. I’ll be shocked if we really struggle to move it, not to say there won’t be a few drives where they have our number.

This game is going to come down to how well JA plays. I have a feeling BV is gonna make him beat us with his arm which also means I’m expecting to see a few TOs go our way this week. The first 3 teams we played all felt extremely conservative with how they tried to attack our defense and that likely will not be the case on Saturday.

I’m sure there are some concerns with Fasusi as well but imagine he will play.

If OU comes out and dominates this game (14 point plus win), I will revise expectations upward.

Sounds like almost every starter on the oline is hurt to one degree or another.

Thanks for sharing that. I'm sure Brent will just list them all as questionable on the injury report since he seems to want to keep everyone guessing on injuries. This makes me think of Teddy and Gabe on their pod after the opener -- at some point, guys need to be able to suck it up and play if the injuries aren't overly serious. Linemen will always have issues -- guys get rolled up, etc. Hopefully everyone except the two guys with more serious injuries are available.

It'll be disappointing if Gibson and Bowen aren't back. It feels like all summer, the talk was that Auburn was the unofficial target. After Brent made his vague "he is right on track" comment about Gibson last week, it will be a letdown if he doesn't play till Texas. But I hope the news on Lewis is accurate.

I think we see Gibson play vs Kent State. Eli Bowen seems like a few more weeks away. Hopefully we get him by Ole Miss. I don't think OU plays a team that can really pass it well down field till Ole Miss. Not saying that it's guaranteed OU wins till then. But none of the offenses really seem to be a threat to the defense till then.

Fasusi was running with his boot last weekend at temple .. ( if it was a big game he would have played ) .. he will be the starting LT .. the Center is also a go .


febechi will be a game time and if you asked me now my guess is that he dresses (to be the back up center) but Fodje starts at Guard

Even if he is you need guys that can cover that week. And the next week vs Tennessee and then the next game two weeks later vs Bama and so on. We will find out just how good the pass defense is the back half of the schedule.

I don’t think it’s as bad as all that. I also think, for Auburn, we will be fine even if we have to play some backups because those guys are still pretty good. My biggest concern would be center but it sounds like he should be good to go.

If we were playing texas or literally anyone else on our schedule, it would be more concerning. Auburn doesn’t have a great defense or a great offense.

I hope so, but if he isn't ready to go for our first conference game, I have a feeling they will hold him out of Kent State "to be cautious," and that he will have to make his debut on the biggest regular season stage possible. But I would love it if they at least get him out there against Kent State to knock the rust off.
