And no accountability from braindead Brent, basically telling Holly that Mateer messed up on the final possession of the half rather than acknowledging that the coaches fu!&ed up the situation.
I guess we will see if the defense can live up to the hype now. First time they’ve been on the field while trailing. The game has shifted, Texas has momentum, and our expensive offense sucks. Can’t give up any more points here.

Honest question: is there a single position group where our offense isn’t below average? What do we do well? Again, we look no better right now than we did with Jackson Arnold and a bunch of stiffs last season. Mateer is a good player but a fairly average quarterback, but has to more or less do everything because we couldn’t run the ball against a high school defense.
No. The writing has been on the wall with Mateer all season. He’s not an SEC qb.
Edit: He is playing hurt so that definitely may be a factor right now. But his decision making has been bad and that has nothing to do with the thumb.

I think you could win/survive with him if you have a functional offense overall. But our talent is just so bad. We may not have a single skill position player who will ever play in the NFL, and only one of our linemen has a chance and he is a true freshman.

Yeah we are nowhere close to being title contenders. Better than last year, but that's not saying a whole lot at this point. Our line is absolutely atrocious. Mateer probably hasn't thrown three interceptions in a game EVER before today.

Can’t wait to hear the spin from the sunshine pumpers. The worst Texas team in several years. An OU team with every starter available. The highest paid transfer QB and RB and OC. A defense that getting glazed and labeled elite. I guess we will get to blame it on one missed call on the punt return.
I wish they would leave Brent on the Ferris wheel. The man is not a head coach. He is a good defensive coach and nothing more.

This team was never a title contender but good grief. We have totally **** the bed today. Losing yet another game to Texas that we shouldn’t. Texas OL is horrible yet they run the ball against our defense and protect the QB.

Would be nice to be able to run with our RBs. Nah that’s not important right guys?
We all expected Mateer to break his hand, miss several weeks of practice, and show up and throw for 700 yards and 8 touchdowns.
Congratulations on being the only person to predict our offense would struggle in that situation. You haven't had this exciting of a moment in 18 months since we got shafted on selection Sunday.

Oh I wish that were true but we will be stuck with him. People will use the Mateer situation as an excuse. Brent could take a dump at midfield and he would still have the support of a lot of folks. I’m sure somehow this result is because Lincoln left the program in a bad position lol.
It’s truly amazing how clueless the people who cover this team are. Every single thing that happened today on offense was apparent for weeks. But we kept being told how solid this team is. How much the talent level has increased. Four games against Texas. Three games in which they haven’t scored a TD unless they get a garage time score today. Just total ineptitude.
I wish they would eat the buyout and throw every leftover penny at Indiana’s coach. It would be so refreshing to see a well coached, disciplined team. Instead we have a bonehead who talks about how many “dawgs” we have.
Yeah, I cant believe they told him to miss his target by 15 yards to keep us from going into half up 9-3. They should have told him to throw to his receiver.
