The defense has given the offense chances. And the only reason there was a punt was because of a safety because of an awful playcall. As good as Arbuckle was last week, he’s been very very bad today.

Are you high? His offense is so bad it makes me want to vomit.

Our defense has stopped them once today. They had another drive where they missed an easy, wide open throw for a short TD, and another where they botched a snap on third down. Our defense is getting absolutely gashed by the first good offense we have faced.

And wouldn’t you know it, we only have one timeout for our final possession because we blew two because we weren’t organized.

This is such a massive coaching mismatch.

And our defense is on pace to give up 520 yards and 40+ points and it would be worse if they hadn’t gotten too cute and changed QBs on the goal line.

Our offense sucks, I fully agree. I’ve said that all season. But blaming Arbuckle for a team wide debacle of a half is silly. People have complained about all four of the OCs we have had under Brent. Again, who is the constant?

The offense can’t stay on the field. That puts unnecessary pressure on the defense. It all starts with the OL and they suck. This offense sucks. The defense is struggling but they can’t do it all. Going for it at midfield was a predictable loss and then the defense is in a hole against a great offense. This offense is easily the Best we will see all season. Defense needs some help and they’re getting nothing.
 
Offense had 4 first downs and 16 yards rushing against a bad defense. That’s the game. You can’t do that against any decent team and expect to win.

That’s giving the defense a free pass. This is not a game where you can act like they got gashed because they were tried. They have given up a ton of big plays and a lot of those came early, before the safety and the failed fourth down. They have been misaligned and frantically looking at the sideline on a lot of plays. They’ve been terrible on third down, just like they were in the second half against Texas. They haven’t tackled well. None of that is due to our offense.

Again, I’m not saying our offense has been good. It sucks. It has all year with the exception of three or four drives. But today is not a game where one side is playing well and the other is crapping the bed. We have been awful in all three phases. Arbuckle only coaches one of those three. Brent coaches all three.
