I don’t want to beat my chest but I got roasted for bringing up my concerns after the first game. It was obvious he would struggle in the SECMateer is HIGHLY overrated just imo
Yeah for a guy that’s been in Arbuckle’s system a couple of years he doesn’t see the field any better than Arnold did…or didn’t.I don’t want to beat my chest but I got roasted for bringing up my concerns after the first game. It was obvious he would struggle in the SEC
I’m glad you mentioned the decision to go for two. Not sure why teams chase points before the fourth quarter, especially when you’re leading. The play call actually worked but of course Mateer threw a lawn dart.Take your pick.
Defense got gashed in the opening half by the first really good offense it played.
OUr O can't stay on the field. At one point it was 66 plays to 34.
O turns it around, D let's them go right down the field to re-take the lead.
Needlessly going for two in the third quarter.
Receivers don't get open and, when they do, Mateer misses them.
Soul-crushing special teams turnover.
We're almost there. But if feels like we're much closer to blowing up the whole operation than getting over the proverbial hump.
It wasn't working and we kept trying...... the playcalling was frustrating to me.Didn’t realize till I just heard the stats that we ran Mateer almost as often as both RBs combined. On a day when he averaged just over one yard per carry.
Clearly, running Mateer is just a big part of Arbuckle’s offense. But he’s just not good enough against SEC athletes to do it well. Arbuckle needs to stop being stubborn. It wasn't working and we kept trying...... the playcalling was frustrating to me.
