Football question

Sullivan can play inside or outside. BV likes to have versatility at cheetah and it’s possible Sullivan and powers man cheetah depending on situation. I could see Sullivan playing both inside and outside depending on situational needs.
i would bet a very very large sum of money that sullivan plays Mike linebacker .

Me too but the Chambliss lawsuit could provide the opening. I’ve heard if Heineke is denied, he too might file a lawsuit. If chambliss wins it could be precedent for Heineke to get his extra year. Or the ncaa could just back down and allow it. That’s if Heineke really wants to play another year and wait it out.
the NCAA is winning over half of the extra eligibility lawsuits .

Back to the Passer Rating vs QBR for a moment. I'm generally fairly neutral since both have provided great and head-scratching examples. For those who prefer Passer Rating, you got a good example why yesterday. CJ Stroud threw FOUR interceptions and was incredibly lucky he didn't end up with 5 or 6. He finished 20-47, 215 yards, 4.5 yards per throw; 1 TD pass. Drake Maye lost two fumbles, but was otherwise efficient with 16-27 for 179 yards and a 6.6 yards per throw average. He also threw 3 TDs and had 1 INT. His passer rating was 100.7 while Stroud's was 28. However, Stroud's QBR was 21.1 vs Maye's 20.8. No one, and I mean no one who watched that Patriots - Texans game yesterday would conclude Stroud was better than Maye. On ESPN this morning, they were talking about the Texans possibly drafting a QB this April.

But remember, Stroud is “good enough” since they made the playoffs. ;)

While I definitely agree Maye played better than Stroud. Maye had 4 fumbles, 1 INT, & 5 sacks. Again he was better than Stroud, but was still horrible. Both games yesterday were close, but neither were good games. Playoffs so far have been a dud for me.

The playoffs have been really good this year. Not sure what else you could ask for
Panthers/Rams, Niners/Eagles, Bears/Packers, Bears/Rams, Bills/Broncos, Bills Jags have all be very entertaining games

If by entertaining you mean close, then sure. But most teams haven’t played well. Bears/Packers was the only game I thought has been good. I didn’t watch panthers/rams or bills/jags.

Other than the ending of the broncos game, where buffalo was screwed by the old completion of the catch bull****. It’s so ludicrous. A really good game and they screwed up the ending because it didn’t follow the script.

Maye got absolutely manhandled by Will Anderson and the Texans defense. Stroud was terrible, but so was Maye. This perfectly illustrates the inferiority of passer rating. Maye may have been a little better, but 100 vs 20 passer rating is exponentially more egregious.

Maye got stripped in the first quarter, which was is what lead to Houston taking the lead on a 27 yard touchdown drive. He also had another fumble that Houston recovered in FG range, though the Texans' RB fumbled away those points a few plays later. He also had two other fumbles, which were recovered, but were such large losses that they killed drives and took expected points off the board.

Sure, one fumble may not be his fault, but by the time you've been sacked 5 times and fumbled 4, you really need to have a little bit of pocket awareness.

i think that was an int 100% of the time .. and if you think the NFL would not rather have Allen in the afc champ game i don't know what to tell you ..

if it was rigged the NFL would have buzzed down and made that a catch ..

The wr had possession and a knee down. The DB ripped it out after the fact. The whole “process of the catch” is BS. It’s not process of the catch when he rips it after the player is down by contact.

I thought it was a lame call. But probably correct per the rulebook. He basically needed to have performed a football move or have possessed the ball long enough to have done one, which he did not. I don't think any replay officials would have overturned that. May have stood if called a catch on the field, but even then, many would have overturned that.

As was stated, Allen in the SB is the best thing for the league.

Also Harbaugh should have waited and signed with Buffalo.

I'm not an expert but you are combining two different scenarios IMO.

If a receiver never establishes possession, and the ball is ripped out, its incomplete.
If a receiver catches the ball, takes a few steps, and falls to the ground, he is down when his knee touches the ground.

I'm a Bills fan, but the more I look at it I think it was the right call. He never established possession and hence has to control it to the ground. A knee hitting the ground isn't establishing possession

think about it this way if there was no db and the wr fell and the ball came out it is 100% NOT a catch ..

1) if the ball never touches the ground how can it be incomplete?
2) this is the NFL, you have to be downed by contact.

1. I wasn't meaning in this play it should have been incomplete. Just that it would have been if the db didn't end up with it
2. ok?

1) it’s the only play that’s being discussed lol
2) you said “if a player catches it, takes steps, then falls he’s down when his knee touches the ground.” That’s not true.

if the ball on this play ended up on the ground everyone would agree that it is an incomplete pass ..

what happened is no different except the ball ended up with the DB clear INT
