Future of Moser

Way too many OU fans are football and front running softballs fans. (Which is just a cope mechanism for OU football falling short so much)

OU fans are gonna get worked by many SEC fans bases when it comes to overall program support.
This.

We'll learn this first-hand from Arkansas. The pig people get on my nerves, but they support anything with a hog logo on it. I respect that. And they were doing that before they joined the SEC and would fill Reunion Arena in Dallas for the SWC tournament.

Wait until they come and take over Lloyd Noble and Dale Mitchell Park.

The team is maddeningly inconsistent. He has a terrible record against our rivals. He doesn’t seem to have the team ready to play half the time.

I’m sure he’s a good coach but something just seems off. Not a good fit in my opinion. It happens sometimes.
Some of it's the inconsistencies from players. Particularly the star players. But the Big 12 is also historically good at a deep level. Winning more than 7 games in this conference should get you in the NCAA tournament.

This is correct. I was in utter awe in 2020 when I went to see OU kick their butt at the Shriners baseball classic at Minutemaid. The field had UT, LSU, Ark... lots of good baseball teams. But Hawg absolutely filled the home plate, 1st/3rd base area....really everywhere. They performed WPS multiple times. It seemed like the entire crowd was doing it. Many of them, in talking during the game, had travelled from Fayetteville. They are uber hard-core. They lost all three games that weekend though LOL. But yes, get ready for Hawg to travel to Norman..

But we can ask that the team be consistently competitive. We weren't against texas, UCF and, I would argue, TCU.

It really is amazing that Arkansas fans are so die hard and they’ve had nothing to cheer for most of their lifetimes. Yet, they always show up. I wish OU fans would show up like that and we have plenty to cheer about.

Who said it was bigger? I said it was bigger than Coach gave it credit for. And that "if" question is telling--if OU was a three-time defending national champion in men's basketball, it wouldn't even resemble the program it is. It would be nearing blue blood status and damned well should be selling out every game. No women's sport at OU (or most schools) is going have more fans than the men's equivalent. The men got a 75-year head start on them. But if you think there is a not a large and avid OU softball fan base, you are kidding yourself (or you haven't been paying attention--or both).
Someone earlier in the thread, good on you & anyone else for supporting multiple OU sports.

Like I said one is not just a juggernaut, but a historical juggernaut. I’m for any and all OU sports building a fanbase anyway and anyhow.

Yet we blew out BYU, Kansas State and won by a decent margin over Iowa State who may be the best team in the conference right now outside of Houston.

Yes, and I thoroughly enjoyed those games. It's the extreme downs that too often follow the ups that are problematic. Consistency has been the issue.

I 100% agree. All I would say is OU fans are spoiled by tons of success and Arkansas is hungry. They don't have anything else to cheer for really. But I do admire their loyalty. Actually they have had some good baseball and basketball over the years...

They also don't have any genuine competition for fan loyalty, do they? The other schools in that state are not at the level even of oswho and there are no top-level pro sports.

If Moser is going to be successful at OU he has to get a decent offense. He has a lot of tools this year and still a very stale offense. His defensive approach is good.

The offense is mostly one on one and kick out for a trey and Big 12 teams have figured how to shut down McCollum who is probably the best outside shooter on the team. If you check there is seldom an assist for an easy basket. The players away from the ball usually stand and watch the penetrating player rather than move to get an easy dump off. Count the number of assists for anything buy treys and dunks. There are not often many.

The team was not ready to play. That’s my biggest gripe. If Darthard (or was it Soares, can’t remember) doesn’t hit a last second three at the end of the first half we score under 30 points. We should have beat that terrible team by at least 20.

So everyone needs to stop crying about the refs and focus on how game after game we seem unready to play at the opening tip.
Lol you didn’t even watch the game and you say we weren’t ready to play lol

No. I think all they have is Ark State and Ark Pine Bluff. Not even sure if Pine Bluff is D1.

That was me. Coach said it was 70/30 he’s gone. My whole point was ou is not a big bball school. IMHO, Sampson and possibly moser want to coach at schools that the fans/admin/students support well. A “basketball school”.

I mentioned the other sport programs at OU because they “seem” to have had more success recently so to speak then our men’s bball team. Mainly on the “court” or field of play.

Softball has definitely… as I said both gymnastics have as well.

It was all related to whether moser wants out or not. Moser himself has SHOWN bball attendance is important to him. He’s gone above and beyond any other coach in trying to get folks to come and support HIS program.

Patti isn’t out doing that… she doesn’t need to.

Not that gymnastics has a ton of spectators but I’m guessing they aren’t out begging students to show up.

Sometimes success isn’t measure by attendance.

I said that maybe those have “passed” moser program in success/support. Maybe in his eyes.

I honestly couldn’t care less. If he doesn’t want to be here then go. Again no one really knows why. My guess is some of that has to do with wanting to coach at a place that basketball is a little more important to everyone.

I listened to it in real time. I’m pretty sure I can tell what’s going on by listening. LOLOLOL, moron.
Taking the visual aspect do the game away would make it very hard for me to tell what was going on. Kudos to you brother

So this begs the question: is he wrong? Since you had the “visual aspect,” did you think we came out sharp when we scored 6 pts and turned it over several times in the first 8 mins?

I think we were prepared yes.
Being prepared and executing are 2 different things.
Being prepared and the ball going in the hoop are 2 different things

If we aren't executing then we aren't prepared. If we are turning the ball over repeatedly we aren't prepared. If we aren't into the game mentally we aren't prepared
