GAME 19 - OKLAHOMA (11-7) @ SOUTH CAROLINA (10-8) 6:00pm CST on SECNETWORK

Had to start the game late....season is toast. I've been an optimist until Miss St. Now I'm off the boat. Moser needs to go and it needed to happen a week ago. I'll still watch but all joy in watching the team I love is gone. Send Moser packing tonight and let Justin Scott be the interim coach for the rest of the year. Worst case we keep losing, best case we salvage some self respect.

We may lose out from here, which is so sad, but at least Moser will be gone.

The admin will have to get more NIL committed to hire a real coach, though, or not much will change.

We can always use more NIL but holy crap do we need a guy that can coach. We need one of those hungry young coaches that can do more with less and work his ass off…and he has to know how to coach… Not just spew platitudes while throwing darts on the dart board.

No doubt, but no one like that is coming if we stay 15 out of 16 in the SEC in NIL.

So wrong. Let’s say I’m a really good coach at a mid major. OU offers me the job. My choice is: accept the job, get a massive raise, coach in a premier league, play every league game on national TV and have access to much better talent than my current roster, and have a chance to make the tourney by simply going 8-10 in conference. Or … stay at my current job with a smaller salary, knowing I can only make the tourney if I win three or four straight games in my league tourney.

Now maybe we will miss on some guys if they have multiple power conference offers, but how many schools will be in the market this offseason? I don’t think there will be that many. Most were smart enough to fire their coaches last year, unlike us.

At the same time, as was posted in the other thread, the pool of available coaches was better last year.

Still, there are only so many power conference jobs, and this is one of them. If you're a coach, you want to be in the B1G or the SEC.
