GAME 23 - OKLAHOMA (16-6) vs #4 TENNESSEE (19-5) 11:00am CST on ESPN

PM need to have as practice sessions to have guards driving to the basket and bigs jumped and swat the ball away. Our bigs are afraid of jumping and protect the paint (scare of fouling). You can time and swat the ball without fouling. That's why I love Chet Holmgren, he blocks and swat the ball and protect the paint.
When you’re a fake tough guy you can’t teach real toughness.

To be honest, I think some where sold a bill of goods from some of the transfer experts. Not talking Oklahoma media, but several national were hyping up players. I never once thought Los and Oweh would be replaced by better, but was hoping for more consistent compared to last year. I think it obvious what changed.
I don’t know, those guys weren’t even rated by most publications that rated transfers. I guess a few announcers said nice things about them when we were 13-0, but smart fans should understand that announcers always say good things about every player and coach they are covering. The lack of athleticism and weakness in their games were obvious in Nov and Dec, some just don’t see them when we are playing the equivalent of good high school teams.

Not sure what you’re really referring to. Essentially all the national pundits were saying we lost a lot more than we had coming in. Our fellow friendly poster Wichita was always quick to share those. We were picked to finish 15th out of 16 teams, so you could easily argue PM has done a pretty decent job even getting this team to a point of even being mentioned to make the tourney. I know we’re past that point, but I guess it all depends on how you look at it.

I don't think it's making many people feel better....the ole being picked 15th out of 16 teams excuse in any effort to give Moser a pass coaching wise. That fact in and of itself is ridiculous in year 4 at a place like OU.

I understand you don't want to discuss OU's Q-1 wins, we can leave those out of the convo.
You do realize that we play in a conference that gives us approximately 400 chances at Q-1 wins, right? You really want to beat your chest about the fact that we are going to end up something like 5-15 in those games?

See, I think this is an argument I’ve seen but don’t quite get. Coaching at the collegiate level is more than just the actual X’s and O’s. There were three - now I’d argue four - skillsets a coach must have to be successful at this level. The first three are recruiting, X’s and O’s (strategy/philosophy), and in-game management. The fourth that I’d add now is roster retention given the current climate of college basketball.

Moser has done an okay/decent job at recruiting from the high school level, but I’d argue he’s been fairly poor in his transfer portal recruiting. His X’s and O’s seems to be all over the place. Aside from 3PT defense, can you name anything we’ve been consistently good at in his 4 years here? His in-game management has been extremely questionable from rotations to dealing with foul trouble, and I’m not even gonna mention the whole Providence debacle. And for the fourth area, he has been ATROCIOUS at roster retention. Have we had a player aside from Godwin who came here as a walk on and Yaya who has never contributed that has been here for 3 consecutive years? I can’t think of anyone. It’s hard to support a coach who seems to be failing or on the verge of failing in at least 3 of the 4 core areas a coach needs to be competent at imo
