GAME 4 - OKLAHOMA (2-1) vs Nebraska (3-0) (Sioux Falls) 6:00pm CST on BIG10NETWORK

Teams tend to get better as the year goes on:

Many screamed to play more tougher folks and we did game 2 and 4 and it showed why I don’t like doing that.
I know folks don’t believe in gelling, bonding etc but it’s real. Can’t simulate games in June July Aug. no matter how hard you try.

That’s why I’m fine with cupcake non conference till you can figure it out. With some good ones sprinkled in early.

This is still our most talented roster. Not ready to throw in the towel yet.
The people that wanted tougher games wanted two things:

1. To raise the floor of the competition and not play multiple games against some of the 10 worst teams in the country.

2. To play some quality opponents, or at least 1-2 quality opponents, in Norman.

To the best of my knowledge nobody wanted us to play multiple P4 teams on the road or at neutral sites as a way of "increasing the schedule difficulty."

Did you the article where this was discussed. Why pay someone $100k to play them at home vs making 250k in South Dakota. Yes we need to win.

Gonzaga game 2 was a bad decision

That article had nothing to do with your comment. What you said OU fans wanted wasn't in fact what they wanted.

And I don't buy that article. Not saying that wasn't the reasoning, but it's lazy to suggest that is the only way OU can make money to have NIL funds for hoops. The Administration needs to work harder and figure out a different solution. Nobody is saying play NO road or neutral site games. But they went overboard this year. Does no good for the brand (also helps NIL) or the team to lose a bunch of games early. The casual fan has already lost interest in the season. Heck, some of the fans here have lost interest. That is the opposite of what OU basketball should be trying to do. We'll lose more money in the long-run losing those games than scheduling the will bring in. That's a fact.

When has a Porter Moser OU team improved as the season progresses? Good teams that are well coached improve. Moser’s teams have all peaked in November and Dec and collapsed in Jan and Feb. We go from 13-0 or 12-1 to 6-12 or 7-11.

And it’s not our most talented roster. He had two NBA players in his starting backcourt two years ago, plus a guy who would have been in the G league this year if not for a torn Achilles. And Soares was arguably better than all of those guys the final month. This team has no bench, no sure NBA players, and a couple guys who currently don’t seem to know how to play.

I wonder how many games we will hav to lose before people stop acting like he put together some stellar roster. There is certainly enough talent than a good coach would be able to win plenty of games with this team. But we don’t Loser is anything but a good coach.

As poor as we were on defense, if Atak shoots his normal percentage on 3s, we win by a few point. We may take a few lumps before conference, but I think by then, we will be a tough out. Moser hasn't had to coach a bunch of guys making a lot of money before, so that will be new for him. As such, there is a chance he will struggle doing that (i.e. getting them to sell out on defense). We will have to just wait and see on that. I really like the talent on the team though.
I don’t know exactly what Atak’s normal 3 percentage is yet.

4-8 against St Francis
0-2 against Gonzaga
1-4 against Pine Bluff
2-8 against Nebraska

Seems like it might have been pretty normal, at least based on competition. A better argument might be to ask for fewer shots when other guys are hitting.
