I was wrong in several early season statements regarding rotation minutes and the use of the freshmen versus the vets.

While I still don't think that Steven Pledger deserved as much flack as you gave him (you later explained that you did this in part for amusement - which I also still think is crappy), you were dead on with Kruger's desire to make this an open audition for playing time (all season long), that the better defenders and effort guys would get minutes, and that he would keep a deep bench all season long.

Props for having such a keen eye in practice. And thank you for sharing your thoughts with the board. I will give you the benefit of the doubt on these sorts of issues going forward.

Not so much amusement for the sake of amusement. But, more so, amusement derived from putting the people on tilt that so harshly hammered me for my opinions.

Kruger says that all of his seniors are good people. I'm sure he is right and that is good enough for me. I don't hate any of them. But, I was pretty sure that some of them had exposed themselves to the liability of lost playing time due to their effort and energy level thru the first Kruger season.

I'm happy to share what I pick off in these practices and people are free to run my opinions through what ever filter they deem appropriate.

Gary, Ever ask about Jarion Henry, They says on twitter (among other things) that he is coming to OU next year. You know anything?

I will be taking your opinion as seriously as I would anybody else that I have found to be credible on here. I apologize for doubting you.

Any source that I may feel comfortable with on some topics will still be pretty tight lipped on recruits. So, I stay away from it.

If you remember at the end of last season that Kruger made the comment that this year would be different because there would be real competition for playing time. He is not the kind of person to make an idle threat.

In hindsight he seemed to be frantically trying to get the freshmen ready to play key roles. Only Hornbeak made it through the full season as Buddy's run was interrupted with his injury. He knows the game and he probably knew that his only chance at a deep run was to get the freshmen ready.

Good practice reports Gary. If I ever get back to the Midwest I will land in Norman and be at the practices with you.

Man you guys need to get a room!

JK. Seriously though, We have three solid guards that each could be good/great by their senior years. Woodard looks like he will be solid, Booker looks like he can shoot [lol] and maybe we can add Omega Harris to the fold? Either way, solid guard play is the most important thing in college basketball, and I feel like we can thrive with what we have.

:ez-roll::ez-roll:

No question that they have enough potential with those 5 kids but are they going to play beyond their years in D1? I don't think Lon knows for sure while we won't know till at least next January.
