I was looking at the Oklahoma winners over the past 17 years, going all the way back to when Ere won it. Majority of the winners have had really good college careers besides Stevie Clark but thats on him as a person not talent wise. Tyler Neal might have the worst college career of them but he was still a solid contributor.

Its good to know if you land the Oklahoma Gatorade POY, you are most likely getting a solid player thats going to have a good to great college career.

I swear that Tyler Neal would have been a really good player for us if he would have redshirted. Seemed like the light finally came on and then boom. Graduated.

I think both him and Taylor could have used a redshirt year. I think it really helped out Spangler.

Taylor should have tried out NFL TE like Jimmy Graham IMO

Indeed. He was just a little too good at basketball for that to make sense (he was drafted after all), but football was the sport for him. Honestly, I'd like to see Spangler try it as well. Guys that large with that kind fo body control and athleticism are extremely rare in the NFL.

I always thought Bookout would have been good.

Spangler already redshirted so he couldn't even if he wanted to.

In theory, he could just tryout for the NFL like Rico Gathers is doing.

Didn't really have a position. Too slow for the three. Not really physical enough for the 4.

On the broadcast they were saying he had scheduled to participate in Baylor's pro-day. Also said he rebuffed Briles' overtures and is pretty set on going pro.

I mean just tryout for the NFL. I would guess someone put him on their practice squad for a couple years, because it's a low risk high reward scenario. Not sure what his options would be overseas. If he's good enough to play in the good leagues he should do that, but Practice squad in the NFL is a good gig, something like $85k per year and you get to stay in the states.
