The Sooners gave that game away with mental mistakes, unforced turnovers and countless missed scoring opportunities that usually spells doom for a team with a miniscule margin for error. Nebraska is not a bad team. But there is no excuse for losing to them at home. Very disappointing!

I'm not saying we didn't play hard when I say this next. But I didn't like the effort tonight. Capel said it best when he talked about how we didn't finish possessions. We didn't deserve to find away to win the game tonight honestly. Even though we were about a couple centimeters from getting that chance.

im gettin tired of all of the talk.. lack of effort, focus, finishing ect.. thats what coaching fixes

Yep. That's what I mean by missed scoring opportunities, Nick. We flushed so many chances down the toilet with poor execution throughout the game.

Remember Cade's freshmen year....I don't think he missed a free throw all year.

There was a stretch when he missed two...then missed one more when he shot fts for the three pointer.

That and Fitz can't guard a big....cameron clark and blair don't show up...and defensive breakdowns while playing the zone defense.

I hope we win at least one more game....but I wouldn't bet on it.

I don't know, Ada. They had some MEGA mistakes that nearly cost them the game as well. They nearly gift wrapped a comeback for OU. Missed free throws, bonehead defensive plays, etc.

Nebraska looked like a team that was better than OU, but doesnt know how to win. Nebraska kept trying to find ways to get beat, because none of those guys have ever won a true road game.

But, as usual with the team that lost, many mistakes were made.

Cade missing 3 of 5 free throws in quick succession really hurt. Cade and Pledger throwing up really bad shots early in the possession late in the game really hurt as well. And finally, Tyler Neal missing a layup at the end of the first half.

Yep, there was blame enough to go around to all the players......one point losses or wins are what basketball is all about, and what makes it such a good sport.

That's true, abd. The mistakes were monumental for both teams. But that's to be expected from a team like Nebraska that struggles to win on the road. OU should not be in that position playing on their home court in front of a friendly, supportive crowd. Many of the screw ups we saw tonight were grim reminders of the early portion of our season.

I didn't have a problem with the effort. Our kids played hard. They just didn't play smart or as one unit. I thought we had improved to the point that the team would be better prepared. Guess I was wrong.

geez

I was happy with the game we played, just not the final result. A little more exp spread across the team and we walk away with that one easily. We had some excellent stretches of rather good defense and for quite some time had great shot selection.

Sorry you guys were so disappointed. I hated the result as well, but the game didn't make me that angry.

I agree. I thought we played well. I'm not sure people realize just how much we're greasing out of this bunch. That doesn't make it less disappointing to lose, but at least I left the LNC feeling what we had to give was left on the floor.

Capel has earned more my support more this year than any year previous, and it's not even close.

and fitz's walk with under 3 minutes to go (not the one people think was an and one), multiple turnovers on attempted in-bound passes, blair getting all the way to rim but kicking it out for a missed 3...i'm with ada, we shot ourselves in the foot. i can't blame capel for most of those either.

Agree Colston. He has gotten more out of this group then i expected, but we can't ignore that his continual loss of players has created this. Jeff selected these guys so it is on him after 5 years.
