The bad news is: Our record this year (18-15, 9-9) was the worst of any OU team since 2005.

The good news is: In 2006, the Sooners bounced back and went 16-0 in conference and finished 31-5 overall. Of course, a lot of that bouncing back had to do with a couple of girls by the name of Paris coming to Norman.

How we finish this next year will depend a great deal on how good the freshmen are just as was the case in 2006.

I think we'll be 3 or 4 in the big 12. We could be better then baylor but I can't call it now...

No way we are as good or better than Baylor unless some fairy waves a wand over these girls and makes them three inches taller and able to dribble and shoot.

Haha... Okay Texas should be the team to beat next year, Normally you don't sign a top 5 talent without seeing some type of improvement in the team, and for a team that was good but not great, added a player like Akins( could be the 2015-2016 pre-season Big12 POY) should only make them that much better. Though I've only seen her in the Mcdonalds game and other highlights, I think she will be hard to guard and could cuase us some problems. I'm not impressed by McCarty, she looks even smaller then Ortiz and could really have a hard time scoring the ball.

I would say West Va, OU and Baylor could all be even next year...

Baylor should go as far as Davis and Alexis Prince can take them, Kim is a hella of a coach so they always have a game plan. Not sure what was going on with Ieshia Small but she could really make Baylor a 3 headed monster. Dekeiya Cohen should play early for them as well.

The sad thing I just want our girls to make it a game against Baylor.

Two coaches, at the pinnacle of WCB, both earning millions and they don't like each other. This is why the women's game is decades away from being truly competitive. Don't ℅ plain about Geno, just beat him because he's trying to kick your ass.

UCONN is beatable, but not if you don't have a killer mentality. I guarantee Geno coaches the women as if they were men. The women coaches don't.

What does that mean?

Does it mean Geno is more demanding of his players than Pat Summit was in her heyday? I doubt it.

Does it mean all female coaches are too 'nice' to their players? I'm pretty sure that's not true.

Successful coaches have a style of coaching that works for them and they know how to find and recruit players that respond well to that style. And it has nothing to do with the gender of the coach or the players,

It looks like texass might be the team to beat for the next few years. They are a recruiting machine.

They should win a lot of games and the rest of the big 12 should be looking up at them, but I'm not to sure if the coach can get it done...

I have been shocked at how well Aston is recruiting. Big 12 coaches should be very concerned at what is happening in Austin.

The one--two punch of Atkins and Brooke M. as freshmen should push Texas to the top. Brooke will be the best pg they've had in many years. She is the best floor leader and distributor you'll see. She is also deadly when shooting. I thought her one weakness would be defending bigger guards but I was wrong seeing her at Boo Williams and a couple of other tournaments last year. She is tough and can guard the bigger players. Just watch her play next year and with Atkins by her side that is a super combo! By the way Atkins was guarding Post players last AAU season and stopped every one of them (most were 6-4 and up). Incredible to watch...And I'm not a Longhorn fan!!

Then add Jodan Hosey and Lashann Higgs in 2015. Higgs isn't the best jump shooter in the world but she can get to the bucket at will. Texas is loading up.

Texas had good recruits before and failed. I think this coach is good and with good recruits they are on their way back. However, I think Baylor will be the team to beat for some time to come.

Brooke Mcarty a small guard .She does score alot of points. That what she does. She score in a variety of ways. Brooke is a scoring machine and dont expect her to stop in college. Brooke is one of the rare players that scores and pass to her teammate.Truly unselfish player

How you ever met Karen Aston? She honest ,hardcore and truthful. The parent of kids in Texas believe she is direct. She float around the gym,she treat everybody the same.Karen is the same with people as if she is still Charlotte or North Texas. Everybody know my kids was a recruit. For example a guard that we know she help her with other school because she 2015 point guard.Karen stated you know what guards im bringing in the next two year. She called three others school for that kid.Did not have to but she did that. The staff she has assembled really help too.

I have no doubt that you are correct. I am shocked that she is making such an immediate impact. I would have expected her to build the program over time but I never thought she would be able to bring in top players as quickly as she is. She's doing a great job any way you want to slice it.
