I'll take 6th place, that would certainly get us to the tourney. I can't believe they have k-state and West Virginia 3 and 4 respectively.

Why in the world does this guy not think that Fords job is truly on the hot seat. If he can't get them to the tournament next year, then they need to hire someone that can coach to take over while Nash and Smart and the majority of their roster is still intact.

I think six teams is possible, just don't see any way the Big 12, with only ten schools now, will get eight. If the conference is that strong through the top eight teams, those schools will beat up on each other in conference play to make the road to a NCAA bid more difficult. Historically, a 20 plus win season and no worse than 500 in conference is required to get a birth in the dance. I think eight teams might be a stretch.

Interesting, although not really a surprise, that Travis Ford is SI's "coach on the hot seat." I'm one of the few OU fans who believes that Ford is a pretty fair coach. But, there is no denying that he has underachieved with the talent he has brought to Stillwater. With Olukemi now eligible and the players he's got on the roster this season, there is no excuse I can think of for anything worse than a top five finish in the Big 12.

The Big 8 got 6 teams one year. So there is precedence for 75% of the conference. But 8 teams moves that to 80%. I would think 7 is about as good as it gets for a 10 team conference and that the Big XII doesn't have much to complain about with 6 teams.
