I talked to Kruger today which i know 3 fourths of yall wont believe. But if you are still reading. He said Cam will be the leader of the team and best player. Buddy Hornbeak Cousins will all be improved and surprise every sooner fan along with Spangler and Bennet. Woodward Booker will replace Grooms and Pledger easily. He has high hope of Avilla being a every game player. He hopes Neal Cole Hamilton will be better but dont know how much they can contribute in D1.
I shouldnt be posting this but a lot of yall are felling bad about next year and i want yall to know it will all be fine and we will prolly be back in the NCAA tourney..

You must be family to Cam for him to say something like that to you... I guarantee you if he was interviewed by reporters he wouldn't make those statements. Good insight none the less. thanks

Im in no way related to cam. i have known Kruger since he got here in 2011. we talk cause i see a lot of oklahoma talent in team camps and in the season im at a 4a school..He talks to a few other coaches too. we mostly talk about okla recruiting..

yes they are.. Kruger talked that Cole has a higher ceiling then Neal however.

Cole as a freshman kind of put me in mind of CJ Washington as a senior. Similar in a lot of ways. And of course, I would expect Cole to develop into the better player as time went along.

So essentially you are saying Kruger openly admitted to recruiting and signing players that he is unsure that can play at the division 1 level? That doesn't even make sense to me.

Neal was Capels recruit Cole and Hamilton are bodies. we arent duke kentucky etc.. we cant have all good players..And like i said Cole can get better but we dont know..Hamilton could drop weight and be effective but we needed a body for practice

He looked pretty good in the pre season games.. made that 3 from the corner but i dont have time to go to practices how did he look Gary?

I'm agreeing with the Kruger assessment that you passed along. Cole is similar in size, body type, and moves around the court similar to CJ Washington. He has different skills, but, he certainly looked like to me that he had a higher ceiling than Tyler and would round into a better player than Washington.

With that said, my hope is that being better than Washington or Tyler still won't be good enough to be a big contributor on an OU team going forward. I think that is what Kruger was saying.

Lol. I don't believe any of the op

Ditto.

It's funny that LK verified EVERYTHING the OP has been saying since he registered for this board in one conversation. Also funny that LK would say anything that specific to a non-OU basketball staff person. LK isn't the type of coach to say those things to a random HS coach.

yeah...especially the parts about players leaving being easily replaceable.

More than likely, the OP passed by Kruger and got a hello

The circle of people that Kruger speaks candidly with is larger than you think. Reporters don't get anything out of him because they are a bunch of weak sticks. They won't ask the probing question or the tough follow up. They just let him get away with his coach speak media dance.

I seriously doubt that Kruger has never been asked good, probing questions by a reporter. To me, it's more likely that he just doesn't want to put himself out there like that. Bob Stoops is the same way. It's tough to get good information out of him. It's not because he is a jerk. It's not because he hates all reporters. It's because that is how he runs his program, close to the vest. I have no problems with that.

I don't disagree with everything the OP said, but I do disagree with some of it, and I don't think that is a very likely representation of what LK told him, if they did in fact talk. Those aren't the types of statements that a man like LK makes to a random HS coach, IMO.

I'm referring to the local media. My point is that to summarily dismiss the OP's remarks is probably a mistake. It is just like whatever I post and whatever you post.

Information needs to be filtered through the sources known biases. There is still information to be had. Failure to process new information is also a mistake.

And besides, it was the OP who was saying that he thought 4/5 non conference losses and the NIT was a likely outcome for next season. That is a position that I think is totally off and I argued that with him. Now, he seems to believe that he has acquired new information, processed it, and adjusted his conclusions. To me, that is how logical thought works.

I didn't mention Neal's name.
And you didn't say compete at a high level like a duke you said may not compete at a d1 level.
West Virginia is d1
I read that statement if Kruger actually said it as him recruiting and signing guys that shouldn't be in division 1. Like I said it makes no sense and I doubt he would openly " dog" one of his recruits.

I don't know what, if anything, Coach Kruger shared with the OP. But I do know that I would be very uncomfortable making the implication that the OP lied, which is exactly what a couple of you have done.
