High school state bb championships.

CJ Cole and the now jettisoned Dominique Elliot got schollies ahead of him.

If only Morris hadn't signed early.

You guys were pushing Morris his freshman and sophomore year but you stop pushing him for some reason. Has the reason changed because of one game? I think people shouldn't get so excited about dunks when someone is as tall as he is. He should be able to dunk.

This.

Morris is an interesting prospect, but when a kid of his size and skill signs early, there isn't much a high major school can do. Too many uncertainties to throw a scholarship his way over the summer after his junior year.

Schools like Wichita State can get away with that. Morris will be a solid contributor in the MVC.

Wish I could make it out to see Woodard and Milton tonight, but it doesn't look like I will be able to.

owasso must have played really well this afternoon as they smoked PCW Anyone know how many omega had?

Owasso, in my opinion looked like the best team on day 1. I think Harris ended with around 13, but I could be mistaken.

If you're a fan of basketball, you won't want to miss out on Owasso vs. Edmond Memorial @ 6 tonight at the Mabee Center. Potentially the best game of the tournament.

I just read about the end of the Hugo-Millwood game yesterday. Hugo had a 1 point lead and their player got confused and made a last second buzzer beater in Millwood's basket. I don't think I've ever heard of a game ending like that.

FIFY

Chicks fight!

Here are my random thoughts on the OSSAA games:

1) Just don't know what to think about Woodard. They play him in the post and its hard to assess him as a guard. Only took 2 outside shots, and don't know whether he can shoot or handle the ball.

2) Darius Graham is a total stud athlete. Anyone know why didn't offer him in football. Lawton guy sitting next to me said he is going to Northern Colorado -- what. Not a college basketball player but just a freak looking athlete.

3) Mead and Meier are good looking athletes, but I don't think either are high D-1 basketball players. Maybe mead if he singularly dedicated himself.

4) Normally underwhelmed by the coaching in Oklahoma high school ball, but was generally impressed by how well all of the teams were coached. There was some good ball being played across the board.

5) We need to start looking at the 6'6 soph for Tulsa Memorial. You never know, but if he puts on a couple inches, he is going to be really good I think.

6) and for Brett Romar, my take on your game with PC is that your bigs needed to finish a little better and stronger at the rim. They had a number of good, albeit in a crowd, looks at the rim and missed. It happens. i don't think it helped you guys that the officials allowed a lot of "hacking"., particularly inside.

Woodard has some of the best handles in the state. Midwest City is the best pressing team in Oklahoma and he navigated through them like they were nothing last month.

Memorial beats Owasso in double OT. Not a great scoring night for Woodard, but he made some huge defensive plays late.

Shake Milton for Owasso looks pretty good. Needs the cheeseburger diet though.

I'm far from a BB genius, but I don't understand why EM puts Woodard in the high post?

Couldn't he break down the D just as easy with the ball out front? Hell I was a wrestler in high school so someone please enlighten me!

Edmond Memorial wins on a last second 3 in double OT. I want to say they had the ball in their possession for a little over 3 of the 4 minutes in the 2nd overtime.

Woodard is a playmaker deluxe and a heck of a defender with extremely quick feet and hands. I would like to see him in a faster paced game where he pushed the ball more. The EM coach's strategy on offense left me scratching my head at times.

To be honest, I wasn't all that impressed with Milton. He's just a sophomore, so I'll give him a pass for having a so-so game in the only one I've seen him in.

Owasso's Jalen Lowe is one heck of a basketball player. I was really impressed with him. Will he play football or basketball at Tulsa? If he's as good in hoops as he was today, he could play both sports.

Tonight was my first game to watch in person. It seemed like his hamstring injury isn't fully resolved and I wonder if they're playing him at the high post in an attempt to minimize strain?

Highlights of said last second three

Thanks. I agree with you. If we could have hit some if those or got more from mead we would have been in a good spot. That is how the game goes though.

I am proud of our guys for making a late push and having a chance to win first round game. 4 weeks earlier some would have thought that wasn't possible.

Lowe is playing football. One heck of a competitor was playing hurt.

I disagree on shake. He doesn't force the issue and just toyed with the pcw guards.

He will be a stud under control 6'6 of in a few years.

What I like is all of the really good guards coming out of Oklahoma the ext few years.

Woodard Harris Milton trier.

Good to hear about the Milton kid. Like I said, he's young and the impression I formed was likely unfair since that was the only game I have seen him play. He clearly has talent. But he missed a lot of shots against EM and did not really show off the skills others have talked so much about. I'll be anxious to see what he can do in the next year or two.

I totally agree about the guards in Oklahoma this year and beyond. I've got my fingers crossed that OU will get their share!

LOL, Milton probably has the highest ceiling of any kid in the state right now. Kid is going to be a star.
