I'm tired of reading by some how we won't compare to the top of the Big 12 because we don't have talent or whatever. Last year we had a bunch of cancers on our team and we cut out that cancer and will be better off for it.
The Big 12 should be a little down this year. Baylor, Texas, Kansas will all be really good but they all also lose some key players. I think we can steal some games from all these teams in Norman. I think we'll be a lot tougher to beat at home than people think and I also trust that Sampson can turn things around.
I know over the years people see me as a negative nancy or whatever. During last year I probably ripped the teams performance as much as anyone on this board but they deserved it last year. Cutting away that cancer will help this team become a unit. That's something we really missed last year. You can give Capel some of the blame for this but at no time last year were we a unit. I don't see that happening again.
And I think the guys we have right now will stay around the program as long as they are supposed to. We won't see a replay of some recent years where everyone defects. I'm never about having positive feelings or negative feelings about things but last year was one of the freakish years where we brought in guys that just weren't meant to play together. I don't think we'll ever see another year like it again. If we have guys that just want to play together we'll win 20 games.
