At OU. I think he may be a better pro than Smart. He is tough as nails and doesn't cheat (uh, flop) lol. Really like his game though.

I think Brown has a chance to be a star in the Association. I think Smart will be a flop.

Don't know that he has a chance to be a star or anything but the guy is a legitimate player with what seems like a good head on his shoulders. If it were possible for me to feel badly about this OSU debacle, I would feel badly for him.

He would take our already very athletic team and make them the fastest team in America. I like watching him play (except against us of course).

Smart will be as successful as he lets himself be. If he puts in the work, and has a coach who forces him to learn how to be a part of the team, then he can grow as a player. I think ford just let's him run the show, and it hasn't helped him develop. A good nba coach will make him sit the bench when he isn't doing the right things, and that's what he needs.

Brown is a really solid all around player, but I don't think he has the quickness that smart has. He could be a long time pro based on his work ethic and willingness to be a team guy. I don't know if he would be a star in the league though . I certainly would love to have had him on our team though.

What does Smart currently do at an NBA level? I am completely serious and challenge you to name things he does at an NBA level.

I will tell you what he does not do at an NBA level: (1) he does not shoot at an NBA level; (2) he does not have NBA pg handles; (3) he does not have NBA pg quickness; and (4) he does not distribute the ball at an NBA pg level.

The only thing he does at an NBA level is rebounding, steals and overall scoring but here is the problem, everyone in the NBA scored like he does in college. Many guys scored like he does and didn't make the NBA. Any NBA team that uses a lottery pick on him is going to look like Detroit taking Darko over Mello and Wade or Portland taking Oden over Durant. Don't listen to the experts just use your eyes.

Jefferson and Brown = the best two players on their respective teams.

Marcus Smart needs a better coach in college to reach his full potential. Best thing for him is to go to the NBA land with the right team and the sky is the limit for him.

1. His shooting will only improve, right now its bad, but he's already a better shooter than some starting PGs in the league.

2. His handles are just fine for a NBA pg. He has great ability to split pick n rolls, and he doesn't really need the handles that Kyrie, Steph, or CP3 have because of his size. Those PGs use their handles to create space, while for Marcus his size and speed alone can do that for him.

3. LOL, watch more basketball. He may not have top tier speed like Westbrook or Devin Harris but he is quick enough. He's quicker than point guards like Deron Williams, Ty Lawson, Jameer Nelson, Kyle Lowry, Raymond Felton, Jose Calderon, Mario Chalmers --all of these guys are starters.

4. Smart's passing ability is underrated. Last year when they had a big like Jurick he was a great pick n roll passer either to the big or a shooter on the wing, which is the majority of any NBA offense.

Smart needs to mature and be under a coach that can develop him. Ford has stunted his development, but there is a reason why he's a lottery pick talent. All of the things you said are things he can and needs to improve on, but its a stretch to say he will be a bust like Darko.

Which starting PG in the NBA does Smart shoot better than
Also, you said Smart was quicker than the fastest point guard in the NBA - Ty Lawson. Smart's not quicker than Nelson was before his ACL tear. Calderon is playing the two. Lowry is also one of the quickest PGs in the NBA. Most of your examples are terrible, but I will admit that he's quicker than Raymond Felton - whose nickname is "Fat." Don't tell someone to watch more basketball when your examples are beyond flawed.

Probably a better shooter than Rondo already. I'll give you that Ty Lawson is a bad example. But the others are all good. Calderon plays the one for Dallas, Monta plays the two. Lowry is not one of the quickest point guards, he's known has one the of best fat players in the NBA. Doesn't matter how quick Smart was before Nelson's ACL tear, it matters how quick he'll be when he enters the league and has to compete against him.

Who didn't see him using Rondo as his example? Problem is that Rondo can get to the rim and finish and make his teammates better. I don't think that Marcus can

This is where I disagree with the majority on this board. Smart's size allows him to attack and finish at the rim, and I think he's a good enough distributor to make his team better. His defense, rebounding and intangibles will help an NBA team from day one. It's unfortunate for him that he has a coach that can't coach, doesn't discipline, and doesn't develop his players.

smart's size allows him to do that in college where he can run over people and flop. it won't happen in the nba.

I don't see how his distribution has made the cowboys better this year. I also don't think he will be quick enough to make a difference on the defensive end in the nba.

What are these intangibles you speak of?

I look forward to the day when Smart's in the NBA and I don't have to hear another word about his intangibles.

Brown DID flop a little last night and Franny mentioned it but he has a long way to go to be as good as Smart!
