This is a business, Capel has run the business into the ground.
As Gordon Gecko said "don't get emotional about your money".

Look at it from the perspective of a board member reviewing the CEO's last 5 year performance of any business.

Previous last 2 CEO's had a top 100 company.

Last 5 years: Revenue down
Brand identity: lowest since 1976
Attendance: at a all time low
Recent results last 29 conference games: 6-23
Roster: worst in the big 12 today, not much better next year
Post season last 2 years: No
Program respect from competition, fans and media: Zero
Capel's respect among AAU coaches: None
Respect from the Zebra's: Zero
Potential NCAA issues from previous assistant coach: Possible
Speedy17 provided stat: 25 Recruits
12 Left the Program
2 Left for the NBA
Outlook for 2011: Dismal

If I was a shareholder I would vote to fire. Why do you want to give another chance to a person that destroyed the company? As a stockholder I have zero confidence in this CEO's ability to make the company a winner. If this was a public company the stock would be down 75%.
Remember what Gordon Gecko said.

Good job butter. The results speak for themselves.

Besides, Gecko is not a real person but a fictional character.

I'm amazed that some of you guys can continually beat this dead horse without getting bored and moving on to another topic. The creativity of thread titles is being to struggle though.

What other topic is there?

This is, and will continue to be, the story of most importance until a decision on Capel is made either way.

Nobody wants to talk about how great Cade Davis is, how great Cameron Clark might be, or how Romero Osby is the savior of OU basketball until the issue of coaching is resolved.

Resolve the matter at hand, then (and only then) can we move forward.

The mighty ABD has spoken.
A third of the topics on the front page of this forum are about Capel's job, all of them started by different posters. Why not have a "Fire Capel" thread and call it good? Most of the posts are simply someone attempting to post their damning evidence as to why anyone who hasn't decided he should be fired is either wrong, or an idiot.

That would be way too easy. The posters, like myself, wouldn't be able to be continually beaten over the head with this stuff. If there was one Fire Capel thread, I would be able to avoid it by choosing not to read those posts in that one thread. This way, I can get to read about how dumb my opinion on Capel is in every thread. Works better this way. Like we talked about last night, I am about ready for him to be fired just so I don't have to hear or read about it constantly.

Why not have one thread to talk about all the "sunshine" stuff?

Seems like that would make more sense.

There was a good hypothetical yesterday concerning if you were a GM of the Big XII, how would you compose your team of only Big XII players.

The only people who particiapated were posters who want Capel gone.

It's not like people on the other side are contributing much right now in the way of content.

I missed that thread. It must have gotten pushed down by the fresh new fire Capel threads.

Not true...it is an assumption and not fact...

i think you have a lot of opinions in here and not a lot of fact... BG, TMG, Tiny, Willie all left for the nba...
fairweather fan warning...

Have we really improved?

We have played 8 teams (10 total games) that are considered locks to make the NCAA Tournamnet (Ky, Az, Cincy, TAMU x 2, UT x 2, MU, KSU, KU). We have not played even one of those to a single digit margin of defeat. Unless Colorado or Baylor find a way in, we will only have one win against a possible tournament team, SWAC champ Texas Southern. That gets worse when you see that the SWAC conference RPI is 31 out of 32 conferences, with "independents" making up the 32nd. Should they lose in their conference tourney and NU or CU not get in we will have gone an entire season without beating a single tourney team.

this is the most telling stat of all. Although we lost to NU so i think you meant BU there.
