1. I play Walker more.
2. I play Bennett a few minutes every game to see what he has that day
3. I play Booker unless he is hurt. I want his deep shooting
4 I call time out at the end of regulation and OT.

5. Make sure that one of the guards catches it at the end of regulation instead of Spangler (preferably buddy). Sub in walker for Spangler if you have to.

Recruit Stephen hurt who can play instead of a total long shot prospect like Jamuni who, if ever, is years away from contributing.

A 3-Star recruit with a limited offer list?

Stephen Hurt Stud

He isn't close to a stud. He played like one last night though. Game of his life.

If you consider him a stud, we have a team full of studs

Boca is a jerk that likes to upset other people. He is the type of person very few of us would choose to include in our lives

At first glance I thought the same thing ... but a little research revealed that he was the Atlantic Sun Freshman of the year who averaged 11.5 and 7.8 at 6'10" and 280 and chose to transfer to a major conference

Who had major interest because in that freshman year he registered double doubles against Kentucky, Memphis and Ole Miss

So what Stephen Hurt really was is better than bother our post players. His 15 and 8 was not some fluke. It was another day at the office for him.

IIRC, we had close to 4 timeouts with a couple of minutes left on the clock. I might have called a to to set up a play to go inside or inside out instead of the two last possessions in which we dribbled down to ten seconds and then ran a one on one three pointer. If they go in.....great, but I had no optimism that anything Cousins shot yesterday was going down.

Spangler getting the ball and getting fouled wasn't the worst thing that could happen. He was shooting 75%.....just didn't make the ft. Thomas....the same thing.

Just a bad day at the office....coulda, woulda, shoulda.......

We should have been attacking the rim our last 4 possessions in regulation rather than jacking 3s. We shot bad all night and continued to jack 3s, this is where I thought we lost the game late in strategy.

Amen. With the way the refs were calling fouls Walker could have gone to the line a lot if he played more. I also don't like Cousins at the 1. Kruger has to play his proven bench guys more. Idk why suddenly it seems as if he has given up on them. Booker played pretty well in hawaii and Bennett has shown that he can contribute.

Coaches have an impact up to a point. I was at Saturday's game and what got us beat was these players lack of focus and attention to detail leading up to this game. They got out hustled and worked. They knew it in the after game press conference. Kruger warned about it all week, but these boys bought the hype. They wasted a home win against an average team. Doesn't mean all the things they want to accomplish won't happen, but it makes it a little more difficult. Krugers teams usually learn lessons pretty good.

This, it was mentioned earlier in the week after the UT game, appears a lot of OU fans bought the hype too. That was a perfect storm for OU, they are not 30pts better than Texas (even with UT's loss Saturday). The conference is going to be a rough go for everyone, 13-5 absolutely will win this thing.

Woodard obviously needs to play better, but Cousins is getting a free pass on his play Saturday...he was not near the all-conference level praise from last Monday. People are frustrated/shocked that we don't get a good look at the end, but this team continually struggles with their half court shot selection during the course of a game...why would the final 10 seconds be any different? This team (especially the guards) consistently take questionable jumpers, and when they don't fall, you are going to have results like Saturday.

With all of that said, if you think this team wasn't going to drop a game like this in conference, given the amount of talent on all 10 teams, you need to reevaluate your expectations.

This. The biggest area of concern moving forward is shot selection in the half-court. We still don't consistently work hard enough at trying to get the ball into the post. Sometimes our spacing is bad, at other times our big men aren't fighting hard enough for position, and yet other times, our guards simply don't recognize the pass lanes when they are open. When this team learns to play inside out, it will open up better shots for everyone.

I have been beating the drum on the turnover / assist ratio for this team all year. Against decent opponents, every time the team has more assists than turnover, they win. Everytime they don't they lose.

How do you solve this issue? Woodard is a big part of what is wrong right now, but I believe OU has to change the offense a bit.

I see some good comments above - working inside out is a good in theory, but Thomas has not shown the propensity for returning a pass that has gone into the post and Spangler is almost too unselfish - constantly passing the ball.

If i were coaching this team, I would move away from the dribble weave offense and work some more two-man game on one side of the court with Thomas and Hield and then also work on running Hield off some staggered baseline screens. You can use Cousins off this attack on the other side of the court and, for now, Woodard simply has to get the ball to scorers.

Saturday was difficult to watch!

Woodard's last second three in regulation almost went in, but he had no business taking the shot. Where was a timeout - first of all, and, more importantly, where was Buddy?

Thomas' scouting report reads this...don't let him go right. That's it. If you cut off his right hand on the drive or turning to his left shoulder with his back to the basket, he is limited on the block. If you go back and watch the UT game, the first half...UT's bigs severely overplayed his right side. The one time they didn't, he put it on their heads.

Just goes back to my point, as talented as our starting five are, they are not above losing at home to a meddling conference team. This isn't a bulletproof lineup.

So don't you try to play someone off the bench at least a few minutes to see if they can bring a spark. Booker could have hit some three's. ( of course if still injured I concede him not playing) . Booker seems like a guy you can atleast give a few minutes and see if he is hitting his shots.

This is absurd. Hurt is not in good enough shape to play 30+ a night and that was not another day at the office for him. He averages 5.7 points per game and 3.8 rebounds per game.

Losing to KSU is no big deal but losing at home hurts. It is going to be very difficult to win on the road. You just can't lose at home, especially to a team almost assured to finish in the bottom half of the conference.
