If you were the wealthiest person in America what would you do for OU ball?

I would endow the student section. I would donate a ton of money to get the students great seats for basketball. (When I was a student we got about 25% of the LNC from mid way behind one basket to mid court.)

I would force the students to pay for tickets but if their ticket was electronically scanned at 90% of the games, I would refund their money. I would also create multiple priority levels and award those seats based on ticket use. Freshman would get good seats but a senior that had attended 90% or more of the games would get amazing seats. Basically reserved seats, mid court, lower level.

If I didn't get the attendance I wanted, I would add a hot dog, coke and pretzel at every game but again taking it away if you were not attending. What another Ten Million Bucks to the wealthiest man in America.

I might also by the team a jet. How cool would that be if OU had a private jet for basketball and basketball recruiting. (I have no clue if that would be allowed for recruiting)

As funny as it is I think about this same thing a lot. If I was that crazy wealthy OU athletics would be my "toy". I don't have a lot of big hobbies other than huntin, fishin, and exercise. And those take up portions but fishin and hunting take each other's time when out of season. OU athletics are my big vices. I would do tons of things for not only basketball but for Baseball softball and Gymnastics. When you have programs that win national titles like softball and gymnastics you need to embrace them and they should be rewarded. Football is obviously my favorite sport but they get so much already I would give some but not as much as to the others.

As far as what I would do for basketball...this is rough to say but my gosh Osu has some of the nicest Basketball facilities I've ever seen.

I'd tear down the L N and build the nicest facility ever imagined, a palace so awesome they would fall all over themselves at the thought of having final fours there, the Thunder would beg to play there, I'd only let them if they put CRIMSON in their official colors. - the nicest training facility imaginable, even nicer than the LN is right now. I'd pour so much $$ onto the program that it would be the apple of the college worlds eye!

I would build them a new gym in my back yard and have them play games there...so I could see them play every game. LOL

OU has pretty much tried all of this

The put floor seats in for students. They fed them pizza. The gave them free tickets if your tickets were used 90% of the time. It didn't matter.

What does matter is fun, winning basketball. We have that now and students will start coming again

so, if I were the richest man in the world, i would donate all my money on facilities

I would buy the Thunder and move them back to where they came from.

right now the student seats stink compared to what we got when I was a student during the Tubbs era.

yeah, 'floor seats' at LNC are not exactly priority. They are either behind the basket or about 20' behind the media. Remember, LNC is a nice oval shape, so wherever you are you are further away from the court than you think, without the stadium effect to see over stuff.

#1 thing I would do is rebuild LNC or renovate it to a rectangle shape like Michigan did. Having an oval shape puts 100% of the seats further away from the court than what they would be in a rectangle.

Well they have been in the same spot for atleast 15 years. I agree it would be nice to have them centercourt on the court but I don't think the placement of the student section is why students don't come. (actually, last year had a good showing for students)

The CrimZone corner floor seats were not bad at all when i was in school

I'm guessing that happens if/when we get around to renovating LNC. Just makes too much sense.

I would get rid of all of the heinous orange seats.

So all we need is a couple of us to be the richest people in the US. Then we have a fully endowed student section, a jet plane, and a brand new arena. If one of you other lazy bums would work, we might get a new locker room.
