Tall team. Was horrible last year. Good zone defense this year, according to the radio commentators. Did beat Kentucky.

LaNesia starts.

Ill misses a three. Kay Kay tips out of bounds. Kay Kay didn't block out.
Grant hits from 12. Ill 2-0.

LaNesia missed, Kay Kay tips out of bounds.
Simmons hits a three for ILL 5-0
Little for a three. 5-3
Crawford misses a three, Gabi reb
Ortiz hits a three OU 6-5

Offensive foul on White. Turnover.
Ortiz loses it. Crawford lays it in and is fouled by Little. Hits FT 6-8.
Littleoffensive foul.
Ill misses
Kornet misses
Little fouls, her second. Carter in for Little. Hand check foul.
Kay Kay blocks a shot, but Ill scores on putback. 6-10.

Kornet gets a clean rebound and is called for a foul----horrible call. I have no idea what that official was looking at. Nobody touched anybody, but the Illinois player did kind of poke at Kornet's face a little after the rebound. Get these officials out of basketball.

Make that 8 turnovers. We charge more than any team in OU history.

Way too much dribbling. Ill. is playing zone and we should be passing quickly to find the open shooter but we are making it way more difficult than it should be.

On the replay it seemed that Nicole pushed the player in the back when both going for rebound. Not saying there have not been bad calls, but that looked good on replay to me.

Turnovers have always been a part of our program, but what makes this hard to accept is that our team has so many guards, which would make you think a lot of ball handlers on this year's group … which might lessen the miscues.

Gabbi leads the team in scoring and rebounding with 12 and 7 respectively.

We have shot the ball well.

12 turnovers so far.

OU 37 Illinois 34 at the half. Illinois is 7 of 14 from three.

Pierre-Louis finally hit a free throw, 1 of 2. Now, if Ortiz could just hit one, the freshman would have been able to hit at least one.

We finally settled down a bit, ending up with 12 turnovers. The turnovers are coming from Gioya, and Sharane is making some bad passes. We aren't really looking where we are throwing the ball, like we were playing in a dream world. Kay Kay got a rebound, and everyone went down court. Kay Kay just lobbed the ball over, without looking, to where Ortiz had been. But, she was gone. She had to sprint back and get it before it went out of bounds. Kay Kay didn't even look as she threw it. We are trying to thread passes into the middle---too many defenders.

We are 7 of 12 from three. Ortiz is four of five.

For some reason, Sherri pulled Nicole. I think she thought Nicole was ready to explode at an official. She did look angry after getting a foul on her. I don't think we saw her again in the first half, and she is kind of what we need against Illinois. Fortunately, Ortiz is hot.
