Illinois/Oklahoma

WOW, we tried again tonight to give away the game. Fortunately, that didn't happen.

Not pretty, but we'll take it … beats an L every time.
Lots of work ahead … gonna be an interesting season and hopefully this experience will serve us well.

I agree. An ugly win is better than a loss any day. Sherri has her hands full with this team as they need a lot of help in every phase of the game.

Unless we improve our fundamentals 5th place in the conference is going to be a challenge.

The best news is that we had 3 freshmen on the court during the winning rally.

Does anyone know why Maddie is not playing?

Pierre-Louis came up big in the ot. Our kids were due a little good luck after all that went against them in the tournament. Sure could of used Kornet today. I hope her injury isn't serious.

Ortiz leads the team in rebounds? Did I really see that?

Pathetic.

Turnovers and free throws again. Makes you want to throw a chair into the court.

You guys deserve a lot of thanks for keeping the game thread running for those who could not get to the video. I watched the video, but just logged on and was impressed with the "team-work" you did during the game.

I had about given up - and was tempted to just shut off the video feed. I'm glad I didn't. :)

As someone mentioned there is a lot of work ahead for the team if they hope to have a very good season - but if we had somehow pulled out last night's game - and then tonight's, we would probably feel a bit more confidence. In time they should improve. We'll see.

I don't like us choosing a tournament that requires 3 games in 3 days. Way too hard on the girls. But now they get 8 days rest before North Texas. I plan to be there. Anyone else?

I may try to drive down for that game as well. That should be a game we can win while getting everyone some minutes.

If you aren't going to score, you better be a great defender, rebounder, ball handler, assist guy...in some of those categories you need to show your talent. Maddie hasn't excelled in any phase of the game. Right now it appears she is in Sherri's doghouse. She will have to work hard to get things on the right track.
