Ok...so here's the scoop...

My wife is pregnant with our second child due in the next month, i had planned to continue my season tickets this year and made it very clear to my wife i was going to do so...but when i got them to renew i just couldnt justify the amount (even though really not that much)...that money, of course after her lobbying, could be used for other things more important like clothes, diapers, etc....

I feel terrible because my initial plan when i bought them was to purchase them each year and take my son who was born in 2007, that way he would grow up going to games and develop the love that i have for OU athletics...we will still go to games but i'm really bummed that i wont be going to all of the games...

anyway, just had to get this off my chest because i feel like a terrible fan because this years team needs me more than ever...

end of sob story

Well, now you get to enjoy the game threads.

You're going down.

You could have bought the tickets and then sold them to somone on this board. Then you could have renewed next year.......

I thought of that, but didnt like my chances of actually getting them sold...usually if i dont go to games i just give them away because no one will buy them and i want to make sure my seats are used...

lol.

There are times when the game threads are more valuable than season tickets, the amount of basketball knowledge is overwhelming.

While a noble effort, you still would of lost money on the package. Props for putting family first.

Or someone from this board can call the ticket office and order their own tickets.

As sad as it may be....I am sure if he changes his mind that there are still season tickets to be bought.

it's not that, i had just got the best location without having to donate...but on the positive side, it only took me a couple of years to get there...

now i gotta start from scratch, and buying them this year is out of the question as of now...

I guess i'll just have to troll around and hope BIGTIME can get me some tickets...maybe i could join him in the pit, i think i could still pull it off as a college student...

For shame, for shame Edmond ;).

I had to do the same thing 5 years ago. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get season tickets since. Kids will do that. My kids and I go to a handful of games every year to give Mom a break on the weekends. I go to another handful by myself.

I feel your pain. Our first child is due in February, and our season tickets did not get renewed this year.

Thanks Campbest I appreciate this, I try my best to bring my A game for everyone on these boards. Sorry if my knowledge is a little overwhelming, I'll tone it down a bit this season for the regular joe's out there.

Hey Edmond. I have had 4 lower level tickets for almost 30 years. I debated about renewing all four this year, but finally did. There will be several games, especially early, when I won't be using all four. I will keep you in mind and will be happy to give you a pair. I live in Edmond also and can arrange to get them to you. Seats are in LN7.

Wow....that would be awesome!

I'm speechless....

Tough economy, it happens. Doesn't make you a bad fan, and you have no reason to feel like one. You can probably still find ways to go to bigger individual games.
