They defend. Kruger emphasizes defense and Capel emphasized shooting. You can get average players to be better defenders and rebounders before you can get them to be better scorers.

I wonder... do you think he put added pressure on players to not miss, resulting in so many pump-fakes, dribble drives,etc instead of taking the immediate open shot... or even just passing it away instead of daring to take a shot yourself immediately? I saw this a lot last season and it drove me crazy

For the first time in years, I can look at our sidelines(football or basketball) and think, "well, at least we won't get outcoached". It, also, appears as if our team will give 100% effort. That is refreshing.

Lon is very good, and Capel was extremely bad. He got lucky with the best player in the history of the program that any moron could win with, and was under .500 without said best player in history of OU basketball.
