If you're looking for OU basketball to be your OU sports savior this year i'd be real careful. We diehard bball fans are excited to see how Lon is going to fit all these new pieces together, and that should be fun. But the monster that has just been built up culminating in the FF appearance, we'll need to be realistic. While I think OU bball this upcoming year is being undersold, there will be some frustrating losses while they hopefully mesh.

Man in 5 months I've really grown to hate NRG stadium. I forked out some major coin for the FF and then I was there as Herman handed Stoops his shorts. I love seeing my Sooners here in Houston, but I hope they never play anything there again! Sheesh

Yes, sweet 16 would be crazy good. Best we stay grounded so we can enjoy the season without needing a deep run in March.

As for Bob, he knows how close the program is to returning to elite status because he and the coaches know how much talent is in this freshman class. If they haven't turned the corner yet with recruiting they will be treading water, scooping up transfers and hoping for the next great local kid.

Bball is a year away from being really really good possibly. This season should be fun watching the young guys grow and develop.

Football most people thought this was the year! Looking at the roster and guys that could leave/graduate I don't see how next years football team is better. If everyone comes back I think we could be just as talented or better, but Baker, both rbs Jordan Thomas, Parker, Walker and Orlando Brown could all leave possibly.

Man so am I, this football team and coaches fell on their back sides. I don't have any expectations for the BB team, but the one thing I do know is they will play hard every minute of the game, something I didn't see on Sat.

With how Smart has been recruiting, and Kansas always recruits, OU will finish no higher than 3rd for the foreseeable future. OU is not getting the elite players those schools are getting (Texas is beginning to get). Until they do, there will be no Final Four runs in the near future (5 years).

Texas had gotten top recruits forever. I don't give a damn about what they're doing. Lon just got us to the Final Four with lower ranked recruits than the ones we are getting now.

My biggest problem with Young signing late is that our current "Plan B" may not be available if he waits until December or January to make his decision.

Lon has not been known to take that chance the way his predecessor used to do. Will he make an exception for Trae if he doesn't sign in November? Time will tell I suppose.

Just because we lead doesnt mean he will sign early. Some kids like to make sure before they become one of the 763 transfers every year.

This is true. When we've missed on guys and I've been worried, he always has a talented kid wanting to play here. Lon's very good at Plan A and Plan B recruiting.
