Are going to be ripped as all get out by the time they are seniors. Already have strong frames.

Odomes: 12 points, 1 reb, 2 assists, 1 block and 1 steal. He was 10 of 13 from the free throw line.

James: 14 points on 3 of 4 shooting (3 of 3 from three point range) and 3 rebounds.

Not a bad first game for two freshman who only played 13 and 12 minutes respectively.

They were both tentative in the first half., but were aggressive in the second half.
I was surprised that Buford did not put up some 3s. He is good in practice.
James and Odoms have smooth strokes. If they improve on Defense, the Offense is already there.

So excited. We finally have the athletes that top teams have. This team definitely looks the oart

Disappointed in Buford here on both ends. Jamuni is a player. One of those guys who just seems to be in the right place at the right time. James is bombs away and Odomes charges the basket unafraid. Lattin gets lost defensively (and sometimes on the offense). The Walker did very well on both ends.

James and Odomes ... I know this is very early, but Buddy and Isaiah were no better than these guys as true freshmen. Christian and Rashard may have a higher upside potential. I hope James and Odomes learn the work ethic from the seniors. Fun times ahead.

Wasn't able to watch the game. Did he seem like a usual freshman or did he seem composed out there?

Like freshmen in the first couple of minutes, but both players were very composed from that point forward. That was one of the things that impressed me about Odomes, as well as James.

I think it's best to temper our expectations to some extent until we get a better look in the games ahead. But, the way they played in limited minutes, seems to suggest that they may be ready to contribute on some level right out of the gate.

They played really well in my opinion. I completely agree they looked tentative in the first half or first few minutes at least.

Buford didn't do all that much to stand out but he didn't do much wrong either, except for miss his free throws. He had 4 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 block in 16 minutes. There is nothing wrong with that stat line. Had he made his free throws it would have been 7 points.

You expect freshmen to be tentative in their first game. I think they did good in the second. Its hard to really judge anything in a first game exhibition against a team that really isn't much of a challenge. They play hard and thats the big thing.

They definitely looked much better in the second half. These two will be big pieces for us the next 4 years.

I really like that our backup wings for this season give us some matchup flexibility. Need a guy to bring size, rebounding, and switch onto posts on D? That's Buford. Threes and D, with some ball handling? James, you're in. Scoring with the clock off and attacking on the dribble? Odomes gets some run. None are poor defenders so it's not like Booker last year where you have to hide him in late-game scenarios.

Dante's two buckets were two of the most impressive buckets of the night. So pumped about the four freshmen and Khadeem.

I agree. They all three seem to bring something different to the table. Remind me a little of Buddy, Cousins and Hornbeak as freshmen with their diversity. Back then, Buddy was the energy attack guy, Cousins was the best on the ball defender, and Jelon was the steady ball handler and decision maker.
