I'm not surprised by anything I read in that article. I have said more than once in the past few months that Jelon Hornbeak is one of the more fundamentally sound high school players I've seen in sometime. He may not bring out a WOW response to anything he does. He's just solid in every phase of the game, from his court savvy to his defense and his ability to score and run the offense.
In the game I watched on television last year, it was obvious that when the game was on the line, the coach at Grace Prep wanted Jelon on the floor to control the tempo and the team. I believe OU fans will be very pleased with how good he is. I'm not saying he will be a star as a freshman. But there is little doubt in my mind that he will contribute in a meaningful way this fall.
